I know Fall is the next term. Technically we're still in the Summer semester. I was asking KSoul if the courses are active on both platforms because that's what it kind of sounds like. I remember when BrightSpace launched for on campus. It wasn't smooth. There were issues for weeks. Hopefully they move from Strut to BrightSpace much better. I'm curious how they can move Strut classes off of Strut since Strut owns so many of the classes - most of them. Maybe this will FINALLY get rid of the 800 million dead links!

I just logged into MaineStreet and all of my former classes are now on BrightSpace. They also have the UMPI course names! Not the Strut names which rarely matched the UMPI names. That's a HUGE improvement! There's nothing in the courses though. It looks REALLY cool! I like the box on the side that talks about the professor. You can see an email list of everyone taking the course! It looks like they were in the same session as me because I was the only 1 in 1 of my classes for the session because it wasn't offered but an exception was made so I could graduate. BrightSpace looks like it has a lot more resources and much more modern than Strut. Hopefully the transition is smooth when it goes live in the Fall.

There is some course material for a few of my courses, but remember I completed all of mine so that could be the difference. I really do like the layout on BrightSpace compared to Strut. Can't wait to see it up and running!

There is some course material for a few of my courses, but remember I completed all of mine so that could be the difference. I really do like the layout on BrightSpace compared to YourPace. Can't wait to see it up and running!

Makes sense. It has a more fluid layout so I was looking forward to it. Perhaps there will be some changes in the near future.

It will be interesting to read the reviews for those transitional from December/Strut into January/Brightspace. Even with a more fluid UL, there isn't much needed to be able to navigate through a degree at UMPI. Nonetheless, any improvement for the student is a win.

I haven't used either system before (I don't think any of the alternative providers use them except UMASS and UMPI), so can't comment on them. I was curious if someone has tried Brightspace, which system is "easier" to navigate. I guess it's similar to comparing Saylor.org and Sophia.org - different systems but the dashboard and features are clearly "better/nicer" on one platform than the other... I'll really be interesting for those who transition from one to the other in Dec/Jan.

There are a few other CBE programs who use Strut. They're very small programs with 1 degree and that's it. Brightspace is like Canvas on steroids. There will be a transition no matter when it starts because people don't just attend 1 session. Most attend on here attend 2-3 and the reality of it is that the majority of YourPace students take far longer.
