I used to do DSST and CLEP testing but took a couple of months off and now I'm back in. When I re-signed up for instacert, I noticed it no longer designates the Criminal Justice DSST as an UL exam but the Excelsior test credit PDF booklet still says its UL. Anyone know if they changed it? Is criminal justice still an UL exam at Excelsior?

If you want to know what Excelsior actually does, ask Excelsior.
Excelsior College | Other Exam Options Don't rely on this forum, InstantCert or Free Clep Prep to tell you what level credit an exam is worth when you can get the facts from the source. Too much money is at stake to not go to the source.
Assuming Excelsior isn't publishing out of date information, the answer is found here:

The only reason I ask is I have this test scheduled to take before I can get Excelsior to get back to me in time as they are closed this Labor day. I assumed it was still an UL exam(it was 6 months ago when I took my last DSST) till I logged into instacert hence why I asked.

I know firsthand that the "current" Excelsior Credit by Exam Catalog most definitely contains out-of-date information.
I ran into similar trouble with the Here's To Your Health DSST. EC catalog lists it as Upper Level, DSST downgraded it to Lower Level. I contacted my EC Advisor for clarification, stating that EC's own catalog lists this exam as UL. No go :ack:...if DSST lists an exam as LL, EC now considers it LL.
Check with your Advisor in case EC has a different policy pertaining to your particular exam - but I see from the DSST site, Criminal Justice is listed as LL.
Fingers crossed your CJ DSST is still UL...
Good Luck!
