What does Learner.org go by in the ACE registry?

They aren't ACE credits. Learner has a relationship with Colorado State University, so your transcript is from them.

Teachers can earn graduate credit using many of Annenberg Learner's professional development and content courses. Colorado State University offers two or three credits for teachers who use all the support materials found on the Annenberg Learner course websites and complete an end-of-course project. Teachers who participate in moderated course groups through PBS TeacherLine can get optional graduate credit through one of several colleges and universities that partner with TeacherLine.

Registering and Fees

To register for credit, please click on the course in which you are interested from the list below. This will bring you to the online registration process of the Colorado State University Online. Tuition is currently $206 for 2-credit courses and $309 for 3-credit courses, plus a $25 technology fee per semester. Beginning June 1, 2017 tuition will rise to $212 for 2-credit courses and to $318 for 3-credit courses. You can call us toll free at 1-877-491-4336 with any questions.

When to Begin Course Work

Students will receive an e-mail confirmation from CSU regarding their registration but they will not receive any other notification about beginning the course. It is the student's responsibility to print support materials (guides) and view the series in enough time to finish coursework and submit it by the due date. Once registered for CSU credit, the student should begin viewing the series immediately by selecting the course registered for. In addition, the student should print the course requirements and support materials (workshop or course guide) by locating their course below. Scroll (down the page) and follow the links to the course (choose support materials) and the course requirements link under the appropriate discipline section (e.g. Educational Theory and Issues, Math, etc.).

OP, is Biology the only option that allows for a transitional license or are the other sciences an option? In regards to WGU, is there an option for you to take LOA for a term to finish a teaching requirement? If you take summer term for example, finish the general requirements and take a LOA to get the remainder of your teaching requirements done.

If you want to get the UL courses, apply to a local 4 year college or university and see if you can take any of their classes online, transfer them to TESU or finish there instead. Oh I’m sorry, I should of said science in general. I guess I said biology because that is the degree I saw on the TESUs website. That’s a great question, I will ask WGU, they do have odd terms, they go in 6 month increments and you can finish as much or as Little as you like.

Right now, I can only think of two schools that have online bachelors in biology: TESU and University of Florida. TESU does not offer all the required courses. I highly recommend UF if you can get in. Their undergraduate biology program is ranked #6 in the country.

Excelsior and APUS offer natural science degrees with concentrations in biology. APUS' program is better even though it's not as flexible, but still not close enough to a typical biology program. I've only looked at local forensic science jobs that focus on DNA. They want certain chemistry and biology courses, but I guess that won't be an issue if you stay in the same job.

Sanantone I have a question... UF doesn't take ACE credits however, if you have an Associates degree they count all of your gen ed requirements as complete.. So, say I get my AS from NMJC would they know I had study.com credits in there?

Yes, they would know because you would have to send them your transcript and it would show where the credits came from.

I don't think NMJC takes ACE credits, though I am not sure.

You have to find out EXACTLY their policy. SOME COLLEGES do accept an associate's degree as a full and perfect transfer of gen eds. If that is the case, courses are *not* picked out and you can roll in ACE or CLEP or whatever. But that will be written, and you need to be sure. (Example, it IS that way in North Carolina, Iowa, Colorado, and a few others if you attend that state's community college you can then attend a public college/uni in that state for a full and perfect transfer). But, normally that's NOT what happens. Normally, having an AA or AS doesn't bring in your courses as a bundle, rather they are still sorted and evaluated (as is the case with ALL of the big 3) and when that happens, the receiving college/uni's CLEP/ACE policy is trump. So, you really have to look and understand which is the case and then how to proceed.
