Biology 2
#1
Hey guys I was wondering if you could help. I’m looking to CLEP or take a class on General Biology 2. Do you know where I can take this course? I didn’t see it a CLEP on it, that’s why I’m asking.

Thank you so much

The CLEP is 6cr, meaning 2 semesters of Bio I & II (at most schools anyway).

There is no lab with the CLEP, so that would have to be done separately.

What school are you at, so we can see what they will take as transfer credits.

This the CLEP bio exam
https://clep.collegeboard.org/science-an...cs/biology

If your college awards 3 credits- it's only worth credit for Biology 1.
If your college awards 4 credits- it's worth credit for Biology 1 with lab.
If your college awards 6 credits- it's worth credit for Biology 1 & 2 without a lab.
If your college awards 8 credits- it's worth credit for Biology 1 & 2 with lab.

*note* if you already have Bio 1 credit, but this exam is worth 6 or 8 at your college, you may be able to use it. They'll just ignore the first 3 or 4 credits and you get the higher 3 or 4 put on your transcript.

BUT.... you said General Biology, and the word "GENERAL" sometimes means the course is for science majors, and some schools don't consider this exam to count as that specific type of science class. Even if you're not a science major, you may need to take a science designated as such for some majors- nursing might be an example- so.... Go into your college's CLEP policy and see if it lists the credit awarded for the exam. You can use the info above to get an idea of how it might be applied to a program, but email your advisor and ask specifically if the CLEP Biology exam will count for General Biology 2 for YOUR DEGREE. If so, what score do you need.

At that point, you'll be able to move forward! Good luck!

If you want a course with lab, New Mexico Junior College has it cheaply. There isn't a cheaper or quicker way that we know of, other than maybe CLEP, but most schools probably will not give lab credit since they have no proof you ever did any labs. CLEP can be studied for independently and passed without any lab experience.
