Hello everyone ,
I've been searching around and reading countless of threads, and though helpful they just added to my confusion so I decided that I should make this thread and get direct answers from those who know best
I'm in the process of completing 2 Associate Degree's from a community college located in California. The 2 Associate Degree's are in Business Administration and Logistics/Supply Chain Management. I would like to earn and complete my Bachelors in Business Administration. Although trivial to some .. I would like my diploma to state " Bachelors of Science ( or Arts ) in Business Administration ". My interest leans towards Excelsior though I'm unsure what their Diploma's state.
The following is the core courses and required courses from the Associate Degree's, excluding General Education requirements. I would like to state for what it's worth that I am horrible at math .. sadly. That being said if anyone reading this was HORRIBLE in math but made it through to Pre-Calculus to Calculus, words of encouragement and advice would be greatly appreciated!;

My diploma from TESC states BSBA.
Thomas Edison State College | BSBA in General Management Credit Distribution
The school requires pre-calc which you can learn by yourself on ALEKS -- Assessment and Learning, K-12, Higher Education, Automated Tutor, Math. I would register and go through intermediate-algebra, college algebra, and then do pre-calc and stats and business stats. You can pick up 15 credits this way that will transfer to TESC. It is very inexpensive and is a great learning and assessment tool. You need a 70% on the online unproctored exam to pass and get credit.
Do a search on the forum to learn more.

I received a Bachelor of Science, General Business from Excelsior in 2008. Here's a link to my diploma: Excelsior Diploma
If there was one thing I could change, it would be to have a BBA--as that is much more common. Now it looks like you would receive a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in General Business. You can get a BBA from Thomas Edison State College. I think it will cost a little more and their customer service is rumored to be spotty, but they offer the BBA. I was really, really happy with everything at Excelsior and highly recommend it. I strongly doubt that the actual title of the degree with the absence of the word "Administration" would have any impact on anything, but it would be nice if they used the same title as most other colleges.

I doubt it makes much of a difference too. I'm pursuing the BSBA at TESC myself, hoping to finish this second bachelor's degree by the end of next year.

Then you should read this thread from last year. It pretty much said the last word on wording.

Thank you for that thread Dcan, it was very informative and I wouldn't have stumbled about it otherwise. The sole purpose of making sure that it said "BSBA" was due largely to the fact that I want to attend a University out of the country that offered that same program so that perhaps would make the process a little less stressful when my transcripts are being evaluated for acceptance.
I've been reading more about certain subjects on the thread, such as ACE/ALEKS since it was mentioned. I'm really horrible at math and it seemed these learning methods were very useful and would also allow me to gain credits from them unfortunately, I do not believe that the University I wish to apply to at another country would even accept these learning methods, as to I am not even given a letter grade from the "big 3" if I read and remembered correctly. Is there another institution that gives letter grades for ALEKS or Straighterline?
I was excited when I read that FHSU gave credits from SL and didn't mention on the transcript that these were transfered from another institution and categorized them as their own. Unfortunately I am too late to jump on that bandwagon. Are there now other such institutes where I could do this for math in particular? I just want the chance for my dreams to come true and study as a regular student abroad at this University.
I appreciate everyones reply this far, thank you very much for helping me.

So do you want to complete a BSBA at TESC and then complete another BSBA at another school? That makes no sense. Am I understanding correctly?
If you just want to work toward a BSBA here in the US and then transfer credits into another school for graduation, I would have to say to talk to that school about what they will and will not transfer. Your CLEP credits will have to transfer to that school. It doesn't matter if TESC takes them, that other school will want the official CLEP transcripts.
Why not finish a BSBA at TESC and then enroll in an MBA at the other school instead?

:iagree:
You should get to know the admissions section of the college you want to go to, as well as possibly talking to the head of the business department at that school. You need to be up-front with them about how you are getting the credits. They may or may not know about ACE, CLEP, etc. You can show them documentation from schools here in the states like TESC (public state school) and Excelsior (private school) that show they accept the credits as 100% equivalent to their courses. I would try to make the argument that you studied the same material and just showed up to take a special test to avoid sitting in the seat for 3-4 months. Because that's exactly what you did.
Poof Congratulations dean, you are admitting a certified genius student!
But seriously, you should ask them and make sure you have something in writing from them stating their policy. I would do this for either the BSBA or MBA program, just to be sure they will accept the credits.
BTW burbuja did something similar, a blended US/Mexican bilingual grad school, and asked specifically about this before signing up. Always a good idea to ask.
