Bible college question
#1
Does anyone know if TESC accepts non-accredited bible college degree course units toward anything? Free electives maybe?
#2
Possibly but yeah, I'd say free electives are the best you could hope for. And even then it'll be tough as they have little to base their credit assignment on. Ask them and see.

You could always try and submit them to a Christian Accredited school to have them "washed" (sanctified) Smile and then apply them to your college transcript at TESC. Where did you get your Christian Education from? for example Moody was an unaccredited college but now is and there may be some way of getting reassessed at Moody for example. Liberty also has a very open policy to stuff like straighterline and College Plus courses so they may also be worth considering. In addition Azusa Pacific recently accepted SL and also might be worth looking at. It's is worth a try also if you took NT and OT surveys you could retake them at an accredited schools and do very well. Although I'd have a hard time remembering anything I did in my OT survey classes from years ago.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm going to say absolutely no. Aside from FEMA and certifications/licenses, TESC only gives credit for ACE-approved, NCCRS-approved, and regionally accredited courses. My guess is that they're going to tell you to complete a PLA with your knowledge. Religion courses usually fall into humanities.

Sanantone,
That's what I was figuring also. A friend is attending Calvary Bible College so I just thought I'd ask in case I was overlooking a way to use all those classes. The PLA option would probably be a fast way to go, but pretty expensive...

There's a site which teaches a three credit course in how to do it. I can't remember off hand who they are but if I remember of find it in my favourites I'll put it here.

LearningCounts is cheaper than TESC's in-house PLA system. It's especially cheap if you choose the independent study option.

I doubt that they would let you use these for a PLA, when I talked to them at least it sounded like it would be very difficult to get a PLA from classroom learning, they wanted it to be things you used in real life.

TESC won't take them. As suggested, using the prior knowledge to attempt a PLA is a good idea, but an expensive one. Your friend might have better luck choosing a nationally accredited college instead of a regionally accredited one.
