Best source to start w/business classes - SL? CLEP? DSST? PF? (quickest option?)

Since my first post on this forum just a few days ago (thanks for help provided so far - you guys rock!!!) my hubby has decided on a BSBA in Accounting from TESC. Not the simplest degree given some of his history/social sciences credits earned in a past life, but accounting most aligns with his interests & (hopefully) career aspirations.

Our question now is . . .
What's the best route to start attacking some of the entry business classes he will definitely need while his transcript is being reviewed for transfer credits? He's pretty motivated to start asap & a good self-studier (i.e. read the books/review materials & maintain knowledge for exam). Planning to start with Financial Acct, Managerial Acct, Microeconomic, Macroeconomics, etc. (and filling in some other business intro classes as well where he can handle them).

Would the best option be SL (I see they have a lot of these courses the cleanly transfer to TESC)? Or is Penn Foster better (I've read they can sometimes be more $$ but easier/quicker)? Or CLEP? DSST?

Would love reco from experts on where to start banging out these initial business classes.

There are two approaches that get you started tonight on some of the business courses.

National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) « Saylor.org – Free Online Courses Built by Professors All of these are NCCRS Approved and will count at TESC, pick one and start working through the material, find a proctor, schedule the test and $25 bucks or so later you should have three credits.

You can also sign up here on IC to access specific exam feedback and the flash cards. Study the CLEP or DSST that's relevant and go knock it out. these guys have great guides and aids as well Free Clep Prep.com

Sl is great too, but not as quick to complete as it once was. I think they are still preferable to PF because signing up is very simple and straightforward. You can finish a SL class pretty much as fast as you choose to go.

I forgot about Saylor.org when I was originally putting my question/post together. So. Many. Options. (but then again that's a good problem to have I guess). I'll definitely double check their current transfer policy with TESC and throw that option to the hubby.

Knowing there's an option to start tonight, I may have to buy a few 5-hr energy shots on the way home and let my husband loose overnight he's definitely motivated to finish what he started 20 years ago. I'm very happy for these options to be available as traditional B&M university always felt like it just wasn't realistic at this stage.

Saylor tests can also be taken at home using ProctorU. You will have to use Straighterline and/or some other source for most of the accounting credits. There are only a few options for testing out of accounting. All of the BSBA programs have the same basic structure.

Here are some options for the accounting area of study (12 credits have to be UL).

Intermediate Accounting I - Penn Foster or Straighterline (financial accounting) Don't ask why TESC considers SL's financial accounting to be the equivalent of intermediate accounting; they just do.

Intermediate Accounting II - Penn Foster

12 more accounting credits. Since Intermediate Accounting I and II are automatically lower level, the rest of these credits have to be upper level.

TECEP Federal Income Taxation
Straighterline Managerial Accounting (equivalent of TESC's Cost Accounting)

Now, you just have to find 6 more UL credits. LSU is a popular option for accounting.
