Hi! I am currently working my way through Sophia, IC and SDC's courses and when finished I will enroll at UMPI for a BABA PM & MIS.
Now, on my degree plan I have 13 courses left to take at UMPI, mostly UL. Currently that list includes Eng Comp I & II.
I am hoping to finish within 2 terms, but having a full time job + some IRL stuff to deal with I'd feel way safer if I could narrow it down to 11 courses by taking Eng Comps elsewhere.
I am aware that it would be easier to take them at UMPI, but English is my second language and I am pretty sure it would ruin my GPA. It makes more sense to me to transfer them beforehand for no grade and maybe spend some more time (and money) on ACE providers before enrollment. No big deal.
So, that being said, what do you suggest I do? Should I take them at Sophia or are there better, faster or cheaper providers?
Thank you so much.

If you're set on not taking English Comp at UMPI, I would suggest ONU for English Comp. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Ol...University ONU's courses are $50 per credit (so $150 per course) and you pay AFTER you complete the course. With how long it can take to complete English Comp from Sophia or Study.com, Olivet Nazarene University will probably wind up being cheaper in the long run. Especially if it takes you a bit longer to complete the papers due to not being a native speaker.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

I would take English Comp at UMPI. It's 1 paper! Everywhere else it will be more than 1 paper. You also get an option to submit a draft at UMPI. You don't get that elsewhere. Eng Comp 2 can easily be completed in just a few days. I spent 90 days on Sophia in Eng Comp 2 and still wasn't finished because the grading was taking 2+ weeks. The grading is also really harsh in that course on Sophia. Many students who have completed their degree at UMPI have taken Eng Comp there and had no problems even though English isn't their first language. If you go the ONU route here are the classes you'd need and how they transfer in:
ONU ENGL 109
College Writing I
UMPI ENG 101
College Composition
ONU ENGL 200
College Writing II
UMPI ENG 121
College Composition II
Something else to consider. Most classes are papers at UMPI. There are few exams. Taking Eng Comp at UMPI may help you in the long run. You'll get a feel for what professors are looking for.

ONU will not grade your paper unless u pay fees for the course. So i would not say you pay after you complete course. You cant complete it unless they grade your final paper and they will not do so unless you pay.
So if you want to have your course graded which means you can complete it - You have to pay for the course first.

With Sophia & SDC, you have to pay before even starting. And you have to continue paying until you are done, which can be expensive! ONU might not be fully post-paid like ASU is, but it mostly is. The most important part, IMO, is that the courses are self-paced and you don't have to pay for them before you even see what they're like.

What are the 13 courses you have left? Why not take something else that may be easier completed using alternative credit and do the English courses at UMPI as they're "easiest" and "fastest" at UMPI. So for example, if you have a Intro to computer course left to take part of the 13 and a couple more you can transfer in, you can take the course elsewhere and leave English I & II at UMPI. You need to decide which combo of cheap, easy, fast you would like. My answer is going to be more for ROI/Value in addition to those 3.

Thank you for your suggestions! My concern is mostly about being able to finish 13 courses in 2 terms. I know it's doable and realistic (heard about the legend that did 14 in 1 term, crazy), but I'm trying to stay on the safe side in case life happens. Spending $1200 extra would really screw big time with my budget. That's the risk I'm mostly worried about here. So really any other course I could knock off before enrollment I will.
These are the classes I'm currently planning to take at UMPI:
ENG 101 College Comp I
ENG 121 College Comp II
HUM 103 Creative Decision Making
BUS 200 Intermediate Business Computing
BUS 244 Management Information Systems (I'm a software engineer, really easy class for me)
BUS 440 Business Analytics
BUS 469 Strategic Professional Communication
BUS 141 Introduction to Project Management (must-take at UMPI, as you know)
BUS 343 Project Risk & Cost Management
BUS 345 Database Management Systems (ez class)
BUS 400 Project Management Applications
BUS 245 Programming for Managers (again, easy class for me)
BUS 359 IT Project Management (^^^)
I have 6 UL classes at UMPI out of 9 total.

BUS359 is no longer offered in YourPace. At least it wasn't last session and I was told it's been removed from the offerings. If your'e a software engineer those classes will be VERY easy for you to complete in 2 sessions at UMPI including the Eng Comp.

That's weird, seems like it's been added to the catalog at https://online.umpi.edu/programs/ba-busi...-mgmt.aspx and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there 2 months ago.
I read something about being only offered for IT people? In that case I should be able to take it.
Either way it seems I'll have to take BUS 401 as well.

It was listed when I was enrolled last session and it wasn't available. When it was offered it had restrictions that you had to be employed in an IT job and be able to use a current work project for the course. All employers weren't keen on that from what I've been told. BUS401 is a piece of cake. It's almost the same as BUS400. Just a different project. I finished both in 3 days. You use the template you create in BUS141.
