Quick recommendation - have you considered taking Western Europe Since 1945 instead of Modern Middle East? The material for WE1945 overlaps with the Vietnam War and Soviet Union material, and is in fact excellent background to have for both.
(you've got the Soviet Union exam on your list as LL, but it is - most deservedly - UL!)

Thanks for the suggestion, Perrick. I forgot to put that on the list. Hopefully the new lite flashcards will be around before I study for that one. It really takes too long with the new flashcards as they are. BTW, on the course list, 'Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union' doesn't have the two ** that indicate that it's UL. Why not?
I'm not sure how many history tests I can take towards my Liberal Arts degree. Will they all be useful in counting towards my requirements?
Today I want to decide on my next two tests and begin studying! Any suggestions? I want quick and easy tests that will be good credits towards the degree... For example, I was wondering if it matters whether I take the Dantes 'World Religions' test as oppossed to the ECE one which I believe gives UL credit. The pure and simple reason I choose to take Dantes is because of IC. I like the convenience of knowing where to easily find the material to study!!

I'm not sure how many history tests I can take towards my Liberal Arts degree. Will they all be useful in counting towards my requirements? The Soviet Union and Civil War exams will count towards your 30-credit UL requirements. Add three more CLEP or DSST history exams, and you've finished your second depth. The rest go towards your arts & sciences electives (or overall electives).

With a psych background, Organizational Behavior should be a breeze. Are you set on your humanities distribution? If you need a few more credits there, cross out Principles of Supervision and go with Technical Writing. They're about the same difficulty level (low, if you've been in the corporate world for a few years). Why not get started on the history exams? Study for US History I first, which flows naturally into both US History II and Civil War.
ECE Religions of the World = 3 UL graded credits in humanities
DSST Introduction to World Religions = 3 LL pass credits in humanities
If the UL and/or grade suits your plans, start studying for the ECE now - according to Excelsior's site, it will no longer be available after September 30, 2009!

I can say that although history interests me, I am most definitely not a Civil War buff. Not looking forward to that test. I am interested in the Soviet Union (which I have read is a bear of a test) and the Middle East but after reading the feedback on this test, I think I'll scratch it off the list. I studied some about the Vietnam War for a screenplay I was writing years ago...
As far as the ECE in World Religions, I wanted to get some exams under my belt that cost less than the ECE's right now since I have so much to do. Psychologically I'd like to make a dent in these 80-something needed credits as quickly as possible. Maybe not the best decision making process, but it's reality...

Hi Anastasia!
I am not sure which credits you have already earned. Have you gotten credit for the written english requirement, math requirement, and information literacy already?
Have you considered any of the 6 credit CLEP exams - Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, College Math, Natural Sciences, and there are others, too?
Looks like your degree plan is coming along.

NAP - I appreciate and will want the help in formulating a plan. I will post the credits I have when I feel better - maybe in a week or so?
I generally run my own business with private clients but with this economy, I have needed a j-o-b with steady income to pay the bills. I recently got laid off for the THIRD time this year! I have been very stressed about it That is part of what is propelling me to finish the degree/s. I'm also just beginning to take iron for anemia, so not feeling too good yet...
The Ombudsman at Excleisor is a wonderful person - very easy to deal with. She and I came to the conclusion that I would withdraw my enrollment until I have more test credits under my belt. Because of the mistake, she refunded me my first payment.
As I feel up to it, I am now studying for my next two tests: Sociology and Human Growth and Development. After that it will be History I and II.

Hi Racheldery,
I think you might want to begin a NEW THREAD (a brand new topic). If that is the case, simply click on the blue link at the top of this page that gets you to the main page of the CLEP Forum.
Next, click on the heading that you want to post your thread under. AT the top right of the page, you will see a button that says NEW THREAD, and you'll be good to go.
If that wasn't what you wanted, then don't worry, we'll get your question answered.
