At this point I’ve powered through everything I know I’m going to take LL wise. I’m trying to see if it’s worth it to move on to SDC or Davar for some UL credits for my degree plan or if I should just get my credits evaluated and start at my school of choice.
Here’s some background:
My degree of choice would be in Business. I get educational reimbursement from my employer up to $5200/year. Alternative credits are not covered so any SDC/Davar/Coopersmith would be at my expense. The degree I choose has to be relevant to the business so a BALS is out. Ideally I’d like to be done with my degree by December 2021 but would prefer to be done even sooner. I’ve worked for my company for 15 years and I’m pretty up there as far as positions go so this is solely to check a box. I’ll be looking to get my MSML or MBA once I’m done if that matters. Also, I’m looking into a BSBA but I’m not a huge fan of math so I was also interested in a Bachelors in management.
As far as schools go I’m really just looking to see where I can transfer a decent amount of credits and be done fairly quickly. I’d rather spend the least out of pocket as possible. My top choices right now are EC and WGU. I’ve looked at A LOT of schools...GGU, Ashford, COSC, TESU, NAU, the list could go on. I’m open to having to do 25% of credits at a school if I can still finish by the end of next year. WGU interests me a lot even though they won’t be as favorable for transferring in credits just for the possibility of being able to do as much or as little as I want and being self paced I can potentially finish quicker.
So at this point if anyone possibly has some guidance for a degree path for my remaining UL credits if I do end up at EC it would be much appreciated. I’d like to get an idea if it makes sense to pay out of pocket for some SDC courses to knock out more. If anyone knows if any of the Davar courses will transfer into a degree in business there that would help too. Would the BS in Business or BPS in Business and Management be better as far as ease to finish?
WGU I’m thinking that once my last English comp II class is done I’ll submit my transcripts for evaluation and make my decision but if it makes sense to take 1 or 2 courses at SDC because I won’t be at the max transfer credits let me know. I know that they’re not as generous transfer wise and most likely a lot of what I have on my transcript won’t come in.
Another thing to note is I heavily looked into Ashford since they have a grant program with my company. It would be entirely free which was enticing. I let go of the idea after my initial transcript review just because they had me coming in with 60 credits (this was before my 3 English classes, Finance, and Business Law were added to my transcript) and my graduation date was projected for 2022. I’m thinking of having another review of my transcript now with the additional classes to see if I can get closer to their 75 credit max only because I’m slightly interested again now that they’re transitioning to UofA Global Campus. I think with their 6 week courses I’ll still be over the date I want to graduate. I can’t take more than one course at a time because of my educational reimbursement so there’s no way around that.
Ive attached my credits so far. Once the grading comes back on my English Comp II class from Sophia I’ll be at 103 credits. Obviously some of those overlap and I don’t expect all of those to transfer in to whatever I choose. Any and all feedback on what I’m thinking through or other school suggestions are welcome. I’m sorry for the novel thanks in advance for reading through all that lol!
