BSLA recommendations
#1
Hey all thanks in advance. Hoping I could get some recommendations on the quickest, easiest path to completing my degree in BSLA from EU. Just looking for the most painless workload option. Price is less of a concern. I think I'm in pretty good shape. Below is my academic plan from EU on remaining requirements. 42 years old NYS resident. Full time worker with demanding overtime schedule, historically a great test taker. Mildy decent at writing papers but definitely rusty.

I haven't gotten a chance to speak to an advisor yet as I just received this Friday. Figured I get a jump on it and ask here.
I know I have to take the cornerstone, capstone and info lit with EU.  That's 7 credits. Brings me to 109, 3 from the capstone knocks out 3 UL arts and science.
So if I am understanding this all correctly I can take Sophia's intro to ethics and Intro to Nutrition, that completes my humanities and natural science req, as well as arts and science LL and total in any academic area needed.
I would just need to take 2 more UL Arts and sciences outside credit sources for a total of 121 credits.

Thanks for any guidance.

@Shogun, Basically, I've read your previous thread here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-post-COSC | It doesn't have much info in regards to the addendum/template, so it doesn't give an overall picture of your budget, tuition assistance/reimbursement, etc.  You should fill us in with more details from here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

You need 18 credits to graduate from Excelsior, depending on your answers (in addition to the info in both treads), I am torn between staying with Excelsior or recommending UMPI CJ or their BLS with CJ minor instead.  A capstone course from Excelsior should be pretty similar to an entire session at UMPI, it's a great deal of work. Excelsior Gen Eds: https://www.excelsior.edu/policy/general-education/

It won't matter which one you decide on, you still need to get a few courses through Sophia.org completed for Excelsior/UMPI, 1) Ethics 2) Math or Science.  Once you complete these two at Sophia.org (as long as it doesn't duplicate what you have). You can then decide on completing the degree at Excelsior or UMPI.  For the remaining UL courses, you can decide to take it at Study.com or another provider...

BJ thanks, yea the COSC endeavor went side ways in 2017. I did take their cornerstone, I know a total waste but live and learn. COSC wont transfer over my UVA credits as UL so it puts me no closer to a CJ degree with them. Im not hell bent on needing the CJ degree, just looking to complete a Bachelors.

Your Location: NYS
Your Age: 42
What kind of degree do you want?: Liberal Arts for ease of completion using alternative sources of credit.
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 102 RA (breakdown below)
Budget: not looking the throw money away but less concerned about only taking the cheapest route vs
Commitments: full-time job plus OT. Work a lot of weekends but no family commitments.
Dedicated time to study: I can study as much as is needed during the night or weekends as long as my schedule is free.
Timeline: Finishing the courses required for the degree as fast as possible would be ideal. I would like to finish within 1-1.5 years (12-18 months)
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Yes, my workplace partners with excelsior for a nominal reduction in per credit cost.

Excelsior it is! Hmm, just to be on the safe side, I would revisit COSC, as you may need to bring in non RA alternative credits and graduate with the Capstone. In total, may cost $1500 vs the $4K it would be fore Excelsior. Do you have an updated evaluation from COSC and what's missing? Or is the link in the previous thread from 2017 the updated info already? They've made some significant changes over the last few years...

Bj again thank you. I actually reapplied to COSC first as a CJ major thinking my 17 UL CJ credits from UVA would bring me much closer to a CJ degree. However, they were only brought over as LL credits. Unfortunately I cannot edit PDFs to remove my personal info so I have to copy and paste, apologies. For the sake of not cluttering up the post too much I will post what I have left. I have met all the LL and UL CJ electives as well as Liberal Arts requirement of the CJ degree.
