BSBA Learner-Designed Area of Study
#1
I just found this on TESC website. Has anyone had any luck designing a area of study?

Taken from the website:

The Learner-Designed Area of Study (LDAS) enables students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree to design their own area of study. Students are responsible for choosing areas of interest by submitting a proposal to the School of Business & Management. With approval, students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration can combine courses from multiple disciplines not offered currently as areas of study. The student is responsible for developing a coherent plan of study to meet the unique learning outcomes of the Learner-Designed Area of Study.

I called tesc and asked about this, the person I spoke with advised me to apply to a defined degree program for evaluation and then for a Learner-Designed Area of Study. My intention is to do a series of case studies to:
demonstrate mastery on a variety of subjects
develop useful models
determine effective tools based on measurable results

If I can combine flexability of requirements from tesc, I can actually get paid to earn my degree.

Has anyone else had any experience with this degree.

I wonder how difficult it is to get a course of study approved.

got the review and tesc said I would have to complete another 60 credits for the BSBA, before I could ask about the "Learner-Designed Area of Study" the counselor said I could get a different degree without further course work. I've attended a variety of schools and have over 160 credits.
ASU
UofA
Notre Dame
University of Texas
etc.

So, I'll probably get a bachelors (maybe naturals sciences/math) and then consider graduate school

I haven't been able to find a good mostly distance doctorate program yet.

I was hoping someone could elaborate on the LDAS route. I am very interested in this option.

Thanks
