BSBA CIS 1 Upper Course Needed!
#1
Hi. This is my first post I've actually made here. I'm currently enrolled at TESC and I've ran into a bit of a snag. I failed my last needed TECEP twice. I need an upper level course to fit in my area of study and it is literally the last 3 credit hours I need. My annual enrollment ends in March and I'm not sure if they will let me take another course at this point. I would prefer to save the money and not take another course and not have to pay any more enrollment fees. Does anyone know of any upper level CIS electives that I can take quickly and cheaply by test, online, or through another school that they will accept? Any ideas for what to do would be appreciated. My degree plan looks like this:

I'm guessing you failed Networking Technology. We've been having a hard time on this forum figuring out a cheap way to get those last 3 UL credits. TESC awards CIS credits for two of the free TEEX courses, but the UL course (along with the other TEEX courses) is only worth 2 credits. I wonder if you could talk them into letting that last credit be fulfilled somewhere else in the degree.

The CIS Electives section requires 12 credits in the 300-400 range but one that you had listed in your evaluation was "CMP-202... Foundation of Info. Tech". Is this going to be a problem too?

Yes. It was Network Technology. I'm so disappointed because I was fairly certain I passed the second time.

OP has CIS-320... System Analysis & Design listed earlier in the specialization, so it should count as 3 of the 12 UL hours needed.

No. You'll notice that it says "At least 12 semester hours within the entire specialization must be at the 300/400 level." CIS 320, though a required course, still falls within my course specialization. At least that's what I was told. But thanks for the reply.

While we are at it. Since my enrollment ends in March, could I even apply for a course starting in February? Or will they make me pay for enrollment again?
#8
I'm pretty sure you can extend your enrollment by 3 or 6 months for a fee, nowhere near as high as the initial enrollment fee.

Yes, you can pay a fee of $233 to extend your enrollment 3 months, but the website says you have to be within 3 months of your anticipated graduation date.

You can grab up the TEEX cyber sec for It profs for 2 UL. And then grab up the 2008 R2 Virtualization from M$ for 2 more UL. But that exam is EOL Jan 31st so I would get moving if thats the path you want to take.
