UMPI's current basic statistics course, MAT 101, does not have an exam final. The final is a 15-page research and analysis paper where you solve four different real-world problems as if you are a professional consultant statistician.
That makes sense right there! I'm doing Mat 140.

I considered attempting it, but it seemed very time-consuming, so I withdrew and took BUS 244 instead. My mistake for not expecting a major research project in a basic math 101 course.

MAT 140 is a far better choice than MAT 101! I actually took algebra, statistics, and calculus at Sophia, so I didn't need any math courses at UMPI, but MAT 140 was a pleasure.
