The problem is that they uploaded my JST into blocks of credits, instead of listing each class out.
My JST literally says Management Information System UL, and Operations Management UL.
But they kept saying when I was requesting credit, they couldn't see it on my transcript, I think because they were looking at what it had been transferred over as, "Nuke A school - 24 credit", "Nuke Power school - 27 credits", etc. Instead of listing each individual ACE approved course.
It's been a nightmare really trying to get credit for what I feel I "deserve".
They gave me credit for Calculus on Sophia Learning for MAT 140. But they took it away after the move to Brightspace...
They wouldn't give me credit for ENG 101 and ENG 121 even though I took them at a community college, because they were transferred over as 2.67 credit hours instead of 3.... So I took ENG 121 at SDC.
And this SDC BUS 301 and BUS 309 thing that just happened is really killing me. Spent like 20 hours on each of those courses doing the quizes, assignments, and exam; and now being told I can't get credit.
For BUS 330, they said I have to take SDC's BUS 102 now...
and for BUS 220, I have to take SDC's ACC 301.
So I probably will sign up for another month of SDC and take both those.
So you're saying that BUS 440 at UMPI is now super Long?
Any other classes from Brightspace you have input on?
Bruh, you are a Nuke and have been at this since January? Why didn't you enroll before now? You could have knocked out most of these in one tern before BrightSpace came along and kinda wrecked most of the speed and ease. Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't bother fighting with UMPI in regards to your JST courses. They don't understand the Nuke Power School program in the same way that Navy partner schools like Thomas Edison (TESU) do. Why don't you try for the BS in Nuclear Engineering or Nuclear Technology from TESU instead?
You can continue to fight with Barbara and the UMPI Registrar in regards to these course equivalencies but it's going to take a lot of effort on your part and a long time of waiting for the faculty to even look at your requests. UMPI is a super small school and it isn't very military friendly to be honest. I'm still waiting for them to invoice my Navy TA from Summer 2 Term, so I can get my FA refund, but the woman in charge of that can't be bothered to do her job (I've called her many times). She acts like it's a burden on her to maintain the Navy AIM portal credentials, even though, you know, it's her damn job.
Regardless, I know you are probably a great test taker, so forget SDC and do Saylor Academy instead. It's only $5 per exam try and you can skim the material and probably educated guess your way to a 70% tbh. I'm an BA Accounting and BABA Management and Leadership double major. I think that you should do the following two courses at Saylor Academy:
BUS105: Managerial Accounting (BUS 220 at UMPI)
BUS206: Management Information Systems (BUS 244 at UMPI)
Then take the following 10 courses at UMPI:
ENG 101
MAT 140
BUS 200
BUS 325
BUS 330
BUS 335
BUS 415
BUS 440
BUS 469
BUS 489
This would maximize your time and minimize the frustration. Unless you wanted to get another minor or add another BABA concentration like Accounting. Then I'd suggest something totally different. But seriously, why aren't your trying to go to TESU for the ABET Nuclear programs. You could probably transfer in most of the damn degree and just do the capstone/cornerstone plus a few TECEPs or something.
It's the principal of it.
Why would I have to take a class again that I already have approved via ACE? It makes no sense.
I understand I could have taken the classes in no time, but it blows my mind that they can't figure out to read a JST.
But alas, I may give into defeat, and just take them at SDC. I really like SDC.
I just completed BUS 102 and ACC 301, in 2 days.
It cost me another month of SDC, $235? or something close. So I may just pay another 70x2 for 2 more exams.
Oh and for the Leadership 260 course and the SEJPME, they said it's going to be a long process to try and figure it out...

No one knows how to read a JST which is why I don't bother with it. I was an officer with several schools, certs, and MOSs under my belt but none of it was worth the hassle.
ACE is just a recommendation, no school is obligated to approve just because it's ACE approved. It's very fluid.

Bruh, the juice ain't worth the squeeze. I originally applied in February 2023 and it took them MONTHS to finally evaluate my Accounting, Biology, and Chemistry courses from my previous universities that I had syllabi and everything for and they still aren't done. If you have the cert for the new EJPME I JKO course, then Barbara should accept that for BUS 260 because I laid the groundwork on that one at least after waiting months and escalating my equivalency request all the way to the Dean. If it's actually the previous SEJPME course that you are trying to get credit for before the current (EJPME I) iteration, then good luck.
Might as well just enroll for the Fall 2 Term and put that Navy TA money to use and get the degree over with. Then move on to Grad school or commission or whatever you are trying to do.
