BABA Not Business Accredited
#1
Is this an issue with employment? I just realized the BABA is not accredited by AACSB or ACBSP.

Those two really don't matter at the bachelor level. If you're going into an MBA for a major fortune company then you'd want ACBSP.

For a Bachelor's don't worry about it. If you have an employer that wants it, they're usually trying to recruit talent from bigger schools.

For 99% of jobs you don't need acbsp accrediation.

ACBSP and AACSB are both private accreditations and not endorsed by the US government

You sure? I am quite worried. I just realized and I am very close to finishing this term. Should I switch to the BLS, then get an MBA from WGU that is accredited?

klone, what is your end goal?  You missed IACBE for business accreditation, what about that option eh?  Even though IACBE accredits some state universities, I wouldn't worry about it either.  Business accreditation (similarly to many professional/secondary accreditation) matters when you get to specific certification or licensing requirements.

There are institutions that are somewhat picky, and it's really entertaining, some require ACBSP or AACSB Bachelors to get into their graduate Masters programs.  Many AACSB or ACBSP graduate programs accept individuals from non AACSB/ACBSP into their programs as long as they meet entry requirements and degrees not even in business.

We've recommended HAU MBA because of the cost at $3K for the entire degree, it's RA, that's the main thing you need.  There are other institutions that are just NA and cost more than that.  WGU MBA you mentioned has the ACBSP but a tad over $3K, it's great to ladder from the UMPI degree into the WGU MBA.  It really depends on the student needs or wants...

As mentioned, don't put too much into the programmatic/secondary accreditation, it's a nice to have, but not required.  Here's a recent example of someone doing a FREE Associates, ladder to a cheap Bachelors and got into a very good AACSB Masters MBA from LSU-S. LSU-S MBA seems to check all the boxes of being a cheap/fast/prestige master's degree.

WGU wins the cheap and fast game.

UIUC's iMBA wins the prestige game.  Unless you got 77k to drop on an online MBA from UWash then you could do that one for prestige.

If you already want to get the MBA, why switch to BLA from BABA? BABA, if you're learning the content, can lead to foundational concepts in your MBA that you can build on.

The accreditation doesn't really matter for business accreditation unless you work for a firm that wants it. 99% don't care for it.

A Business degree that is not AACSB or ACBSP accredited is just fine for 99% of people. I have never even seen an employer ask for that. Not saying it might never be something you need, but it's just not something you'll run into regularly (and maybe not ever for the rest of your life). And if you're going to get a master's anyway, then why switch? That makes no sense.

I'm not suggesting you need a degree with accreditation beyond RA. If you need specialty accreditation, please be advised almost all elite MBA programs in the USA hold AACSB rather than ACBSP accreditation.
