BA in Sociology help!

Hi All I'm hoping you can help me.
I have been using: JSD's BA in Sociology (after July 1st, 2015) and Sanantone's TESU General Education Options After July 1, 2015
to complete this Degree. 

*I have just about finished the gen ed options, except for math/ All Via Straighterline 
*My real question is about the 18 UL credits portion. 
*Assuming i get the 12 UL credits from other sources, then the 6 from TESU, that equals the 18.
*So total credits would be about 80 or so. Gen Ed + UL credits
*To get the degree you need 120 or so. 
*Am i missing electives or do some of these credits equal more than 3?
*Apologies, i clearly get the 60 credit  Gen ed requirement, but after that i seem to have gotten confused.

Yes. There are 27 credits of free electives. They can be anything. Also there are a total of 33 units in the Sociology AOS of which 18 have to be UL.

60 GenEds + 33 AOS + 27 free electives = 120

Have you applied to TESU, yet? If not, I recommend you do, and send your current transcripts in. Then you will have a filled in evaluation, and things will make more sense.

I'll have to wait until I'm back at my desktop to look at this more closely, but it looks like for starters you're missing your free electives? These are electives that don't need to be gen Ed or sociology, and I think with the Soc degree you have around 27cr of free electives.

I'm not sure if you're already enrolled and under and old catalog? If not, you're missing some courses in the AOS:

Intro to Sociology (you're going to have to move that from the Diversity Area - you can move Anthropology up to Diversity)
Statistics

Also, I think Social Theory is a category of class, rather than an actual class. You just need to find out what that is, and then you could probably find one somewhere inexpensively (I'm thinking Victimology would work - CSU-Global, Propero & PF all have it).

Study.com's Sociology of Work would work (UL). Social Psychology might as well (LL). They also have Ethics in the Social Sciences in the pipeline.

Marriage & the Family TECEP exam will definitely work (it's in their listing)

Lumerit has Social Justice from a Biblical Perspective.

There's a UExcel Social Psych course that's UL.

Then, just a reminder that you're limited to 90cr from a single source, so don't take too many SL courses (you're at 72cr from there now).

I would be shocked if Victomology counted as Social Theory. Social Theory is a category, but it's a pretty narrow category encompassing exploration of various approaches to sociology.

This course explores recent and contemporary sociological theories in an effort to help students understand how society functions. There are a bunch of Sociology courses that might work at CSU-Pueblo IS for $555. But here's a good one for Social Theory:

*Also glad you said something about Straighterline , yes i intend not to take any more since im at 72 or so.
*The courses you listed above I assume are Sociology Electives? Is there anyway to find out if Tesu still accepts them , or do i have to enroll to do a transcript check?
*Also if i move Intro to Sociology  away from the Diversity Area, i assume i need to take 1 more elective to replace Anthropology?

WGU has that policy, but TESU will let you transfer more credit as you go along, so no problem with applying, in fact you really should do so soon so the catalog can't be changed out from under you. AOS is area of study. Free electives are literally any course worth college credit, so no list needed.

Here is a spreadsheet showing your credits, and what you have left.  It's showing as costing more than it actually will, since I put in every sociology course I could find.  You just need 33cr in the AOS, and some are required, and 18cr of UL are needed (so 5 UL courses plus the capstone).

Once you narrow down the courses you want to take in the AOS, I would get them preapproved by TESU as fitting in correctly (you have to be enrolled for this to happen).  So, consider taking the Marriage & the Family TECEP to get enrolled, since it's an inexpensive test and will kill 2 birds with 1 stone (fits in the AOS and counts for enrollment).
