I just finished my last class for that degree so here are some thoughts:

For the communication electives:

-Use PLA courses if you have experience in the field (noting that this is quite expensive). I did one in TV Production.
-Utilize the journalism courses to the limit of 6 SH. That gives you access to the Intro to News Reporting TECEP.
-Although I didn't do it, you can use straighterline for Business Communication (COM-300) check out the acceptance guide at Transfer College Credits To Thomas Edison State College (TESC) - StraighterLine
-Use the Technical Writing DSST exam. It will fit in as ENG-201 but show up in the comm electives.
-Consider the Public Speaking DSST exam. I've heard both good and bad stories so I didn't end up using that but you could.
-Look at the Marketing Communications TECEP, an advisor recommended it but it doesn't show up on the list of elective choices or under the humanities list.
-Take the Public Relations TECEP.

Find TECEP list at About TECEPÂ Exams and consider speaking with an advisor, they can recommend more things too.
