B.O.G Complications, Advice?

Can you CLEP/DSST/other any of the lower grade (read: F) classes? I had an F on a CC transcript I sent them (Introductory Psychology). The CLEP cancelled that out and brought my GPA from a 2.0 to a 2.66.

That is a wonderful idea I'll look into that tonight. Thank you.

I get that you're mad, but being mad at Pierpont won't do you any good, since those are the rules and you just didn't know them.

But it sounds more like you just need to take some classes and get that GPA up a bit, even if you get the BOG AAS. You'll need a 2.0 to graduate at most schools I think (definitely at TESU).

I wouldn't let this keep me down, but rather try to get some classes under my belt to get that GPA up and move on.

Rio Salado has rolling starts, meaning they start once a month (sometimes more). They have First Year Composition II starting on Monday 6/18, and it's 8 weeks long. They are $215/cr hour.

There are also the Independent Study courses, although I don't know how long they take:
U of Idaho IS has English 102 for $510
CSU-Pueblo IS has English 102 for $555
SHSU has English Comp II online for $573

Was that something your CC did, or something that Pierpont did?

I e-mailed Mrs.parks with the new plan of action.  This is what she had to say.

"CLEP and ACE do not come in as letter grades.  They are not exact equivalents, so they can't cancel out anything previously.

Your quickest route may be to take an English composition on www.straighterline.com or the CLEP and then enroll in any 3-credit class you believe you could earn an A in.  I would check out some of our second session summer classes.

"

I had an F in biology and I asked if my transfer from ACE would take that off my record, I also asked her if I could CLEP my English II and get rid of my D from my previous class.
Seems those are both no go's.

I'm guessing you'd have to take a CLEP/ACE course for the courses you got bad grades in, and there aren't any? As opposed to Intro to Psych which quigognene was able to do. Just a guess. Because you're not looking to replace a letter grade with a new grade, you're looking to not use a course, and having different courses come into the eval instead.

Maybe you can ask if you can take some of the grades off of the transcript? Like, remove the F's/D's, and get other courses on there instead? Just trying to figure out a different way to ask the question.

Psych1 the F I got from the CC.  Note the "E" under the "R" column.

Psych2 is the CLEP.

I will give that a shot. My Bio from ACE is a replacement in my mind. Both are entry Biology classes. My English CompII should also be replaceable with an ACE course.  I might start digging through the handbook and see if there is more documentation on what I'm trying to do.

I believe you  Smile

When you asked to have this done, Did you ask to have it replaced? Did you go through Mrs.Parks? Maybe I'm missing something.
