LSU is probably the most popular choice. I took Auditing through them, and can endorse.

My recollection from the syllabus is that it's twice as expensive as Oakton and more writing intensive.

LSU has long been considered a value option for accounting credit (especially for those of us who are used to paying $1k+ per credit), and I never had to do a lot of writing. There is some short-form response questions for some homework assignments, but brevity is appreciated, and you don't need to write an inordinate amount.

I got all my credits from Study.com, Davar or OnineDegree. The Tax TECEP for $225, and Oakton's Auditing is $500, the most expensive of anything I've taken. I believe LSU was like $1k? LSU is similar to Oakton though in that it's 3 exams and some homework assignments. There are no long papers like CSU Global.
Oakton places less weight on the exams though.
Oakton:
Exam #1 100 points
Exam #2 100 points
Exam #3 100 points
Chapter Homework + Quizzes Up to 500
point
LSU:
Module Assignments (15@10 points each) 150
Examination I (Modules 01–05) 100
Examination II (Modules 06–09) 100
Final Exam (Modules 10–15) 100

Good find. Those all have pre-requisites though. It seems that both taxation and auduting requires one to have taken "Financial Reporting".

CSU Gloabl doesn't allow one to solely enroll in the SSA anymore. It's a shame. It's the reason i signed up to take the course at Oakton Community College. CSU Global's actual auditing course seems rather writing intensive based on the syllabus. Oakton and LSU seem much more manageable assuming you prefer exams over papers.

I just figured I'd come back and follow up, I'm a week into the Oakton Auditing course and it seems not too challenging. The homework assignments are multiple choice, matching, true/ false and you can do them unlimited times until you get them all right, with the quizzes, they are all multiple choice, you have 2 attempts, the 2nd attempt isn't identical to the 1st but a lot of the questions are the same. I believe the 3 exams are all multiple choice too. You can use ProctorU or a local proctor for the exams. 500 of the 800 points are homework and quizzes, so you'd have to pretty much bomb the 3 exams in order to not pass this.

LSU is ~$850, and it's upper-division credit, while CC credit will be lower-division. For many states, you need ~15 upper-division accounting credits. I agree there's no reason to spend more than you need to for your own situation.
