Teacher Certification in NY through Tesc or Tesc > Walden

Wondering if anyone has completed any degrees leading to Teaching certification in NY through TESC. Trying to figure out how a self-planned degree in Natural Science or Math would make it through to certification through TESC & NY Dept. of Ed. programs or TESC into the MAT degree in Walden. Does everyone check each clep/dsst exam to see if they will be accepted due to the 3.0 GPA requirement?
