Are you able to earn a Masters Degree completely online from one of these colleges?
#1
I'm new to this forum -- absolutely love it btw! I homeschool my 4 kids and will be helping my oldest begin CLEPPING, etc this coming year.

I am curious about Masters Degrees. Can you earn them completely online? I was under the impression it was only a Bachelors. I hold a BS and I went for my Masters year ago. I completed the entire course of study, had my proposal for my thesis accepted, but then never turned in my finished thesis, so I don't actually hold the degree.

Is it actually possible for me to get that finished somehow?
Thanks for any information!!!

Excelsior offers some Masters degrees online, I know the MBA is offered. Difference is, there is very little (I know of maybe 3 credits) that can be done outside of traditional classes through the university.

Most school offer Masters, and some PhD, online. Others offer part online but require some classes done physically. Even Stanford offers some all online Masters degrees (only for employees of select companies, I happen to be one and hope to get accepted).

Four Oaks, unfortunately you'll probably only be able to transfer some of your credits to any new grad program, but I'd advise looking at American Public University because they have a lot of programs and, IIRC, have a relatively generous transfer acceptance policy relative to that of most other schools (which is typically 6 credits).

Don't lose sight of your endgame though- what degree do you want to earn, why do you want it and how much can you spend/reasonably borrow. There are plenty of master's degrees you can earn online, but your criteria should be the right one for you your pocketbook.

Thomas Edison has online master degrees and allows you to transfer in 12 credits. I did see one school that would let you transfer in almost the whole degree, but I can't remember who it was. I did a search and saw that Mountain State University might accept 18 credits.

Western Governors University also has completly online masters and it fairly resonably priced. They may not give you credit for all of your past work, but they are competency based and it may go faster for you.

Why not go back to the original school and ask what can be done? That way all of your courses are already accepted. Maybe you just need to take exams to prove you know it, and do a new thesis?
