I have an up date for the people that have been following the progress of my beautiful, very smart, Bio/Chem Major daughter. Her apllication is in for the PharmD program. It is an early admission application. She will know in Feb if she is in for an Oct start. She has not graduated from her BS program yet but this PharmD program will consider her as long as all of the pre requ's are done and you are a strong candidate. She is quite torn up because she really wants to finish her Genetics minor, while continuing doing research in the cancer lab. So she has had to consider all sides of this. I explained to her that she will be able to make the best decision for herself by knowing exactly what her real options are. I cannot wait till February!

From everything you have said about this girl she WILL make this program, but she would not have gotten this far without a driven parent to guide her. Great Job!!

Pharmacy is a GREAT career - close to 0% unemployment and a starting salary of almost 6 figures. There is a variety of options beyond the traditional hospital/retail fields such as research or even working in higher-level business or product management positions within companies that support the healthcare industry. She is making a great choice. You really can't go wrong with being a PharmD. It's definitely a long, difficult schooling path, but a very wise choice.

Drum roll...............Just opened the mail and she has been accepted into the program. The girl did it. My little scientist made it in under early admission. WOW. I just can't believe it. WOW! Dr Emmaline. I like the sound of that!
