Anyone like to shoot?

My brother has an AR-15 with a super cool ACOG, and an HK 45 pistol. My dad picked up a gen 4 glock a couple months ago (before the single shot exemption came into play in 2015).

I'm looking into getting a 12ga Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 Express as soon as the money starts to flow in

Shooting is a great stress reliever for me, and I definitely plan on doing it as often as I can.

Anyone else like to shoot?

I actually don't know how many guns I own but it's a lot by most any measure.

Most of my training these days centers on defensive handgun/concealed carry and passing those skills on to others such as family and close friends. My online activities revolve around two broad categories, alternative higher education and civilian combative shooting.

I also have a real thing for single and side by side shotguns, the older the better. One thing missing from my collection that I would really like to fill is a European style "Drilling" with three barrels, 2 shotgun and a big game caliber rifle. Trouble is I'm a practical sort of guy and the drillings I usually see are in odd calibers that aren't conducive to regular feeding. I need something like a 30/06 Rifle with 12 guage barrels.

I should have shot more often for practice when I was in security, but I was too lazy to go. I only shot when I needed to requalify for my license. Shooting a handgun is okay. I hate shooting shotguns. I should probably practice with the gun I use for concealed carry because I haven't shot it yet. Yeah, I know that's bad.

What is even more fun is taking self defense courses. In the Krav Maga course I took, there were about 30 students and only 2 were men. Self defense courses are becoming very popular among women. Unless you're a licensed peace officer, you can't carry a gun on college campuses in Texas. My university offers Krav Maga courses for free to students and employees.

Shooting courses are also becoming popular with women. My concealed handgun license course was roughly half women, half men. I'm seeing a lot of training schools with women-only shooting courses.

I'm not a gun collector. I have one gun that is junk and no one wants to buy, a .40 that I used in security, and a .380 that I use for concealed carry. I'm thinking about purchasing a shotgun because they're cheap.

I own seven handguns and inherited a few rifles. My Pops, well his whole family, were firearm enthusiasts. That is the politically correct term, right?

I'm actually a competitive shooting team member. Although I haven't been able to compete in awhile due to other responsibilities but I'm still quite dangerous with a weapon. I compete with my CZ 1911 DanWesson (fav). But for just blasting through a box of ammo, Taurus PT92 and Beretta 92FS are my go to guns. I have large hands for a woman (thanks to the linebacker side of the family) so larger guns have a better feel but I prefer 9MM, not as much kick. Now if someone should walk into the house unannounced, well let's just say they'd be greeted by something a bit different. :coolgleam:

I'm an enthusiast as well. I'm an NRA Instructor, and shoot 3gun competitively for fun. I'm a licensed CHL holder, and typically always carry. I have an AR 15 that I built, a benelli shotgun and multiple hand guns. My favorite is my CZ P07 9mm, but I typically carry the M&P Shield .40 because of the size.

I just finished building my AR15 last month, that is my new favorite weapon. I also have an XDM, SR9c, Glock 23, and a P22. My wish list includes a 1911 R1 and a 92FS. I just wish there were more places to shoot for free around here. To avoid fees I normally drive 45 minutes south to shoot at a WMA

Nice to see other women responding! Don't let the fluffy face fool you...one of my best friends is a 22 semi-auto named "Irma". Purse and pocket-sized. Three of my favorite brands to shop for my wardrobe accessories are Tiffany's, Coach, and Smith and Wesson.

We had an "issue" here in our neighborhood with a crazy person threatening our HOA board (I'm on it), so I immediately went home, got the husband and kids, and went to the gun range. The kids had never shot, and it had been awhile since my husband or I had as well. We got an instructor, and he worked with the kids and I. He was fantastic, and an hour after we got going, we were all feeling quite good about ourselves. My 10-yo son has played too many hours of Xbox, and it showed because he was scary accurate with the headshots. My 12-yo daughter, who didn't want to go at all, loved it, and was quite excited about her ability to "move her cluster" to wherever she wanted it to be (heart). I was accurate as well, and felt very empowered. Now, the kids know what to do if someone unexpected shows up outside, and I'm happy to know that we at least have a plan and they know what to do if an emergency arises.

The crazy person did not show up at my house, but a few weeks later there was an "incident" and he is now in jail for spousal abuse, DUI, battery, and some other things. It was quite a scene, with SWAT coming to escort the ambulance to get the wife because it was known that the guy had guns in the house.

Needless to say, I am now very much in the "likes to shoot" camp, and will be taking us all to get some additional practice in, as well as purchase another firearm sooner rather than later.

We live in CA, in one of those wonderful counties where the sheriff doesn't have to approve a CCW if he doesn't want to, but if I feel the need to carry concealed, I may anyway. The police obviously can't get here in time to protect us all, so I'm happy to count on myself and my family instead.
