If you take accounting I and II through Straighterline and then send it to Fort Hays State University, will Fort Hays still transcript them as their own introductory accounting classes with the grade that you made, so that if an admissions officer from another college looks at your Fort Hays transcript, he will not be able to tell that the credits were earned through Straighterline since it appears just as if you had taken them in-house on campus?
I know this was the case about a year ago, but I heard a bunch of students/faculty got all up-in-arms over it, so they stopped doing this.
If they still let you use their transcript to conceal Straighterline as the source of credit, I definitely plan on taking these courses soon with the intent of transfering them to a university that ordinarily doesn't accept Straighterline.

As of a few months ago, yes. I was going to try to do this for my C in accounting II, but after paying the 30 bucks to register at FHSU, I found out that since COSC is a SL partner, they only accept SL credit directly from SL. Or.. at least that's what my advisor told me. I didn't actually try to do it.
Andrew Hoon is not with SL anymore, and he knew the FHSU people pretty well, but I'm sure the new advisor is catching up. I can't remember her name, but if you call the SL phone number, choose the option for advising, you'll get her voicemail.

Hello UGAChemDawg,
I agree with burbuja0512, you should first verify with SL and possibly FHSU admissions as well. Admissions can transfer you over to the virtual advisors office for questions.
Hopefully this will help answer your question on how the courses are transcribed--I was pleasantly surprised to see Fort Hays listed on my clearinghouse account for both the spring and fall semesters last year. Also, remember they only accept five SL courses; I can only guess that only these few courses meet their academic requirements.
Good luck!
