Anyone for some pork????
#31
This thread seems to have a bit of a bizarre theme, one that has drifted through some odd topics ranging from firearms, the appropriate baseball bat for hitting people, and now involving religion.

The thread was supposed to talk about wasteful government spending (pork) and there are plenty of other sites to do that so let's FOCUS
instead. Thanks.

Sorry guys,
I guess I didn't make myself clear enough! I was attempting to creatively pull this thread back on topic with a comparison of edible pork to the problems with pork spending. I guess I'll leave that to the poets and bards since I don't seem to do it effectively, I was not trying to make any religious statment!!!

Enough said I'll try to restate what I was trying to say breafly; Pork (waistful government spending) is bad for everyone besides the lobyists, the congressmen, and the media. So let those who would waist taxpayers $$$ beware as we the people aren't going to put up with it any longer.

Am I clear enough this time???

i for one am extremely grateful that the republicans are out of office. bush has nearly ruined us! And this economy is in the worse state that i have ever seen. people have died in the name of oil and greedy buisness. our rights as americans have been taken away in the name of fear. well i am a professional. i work, i pay ALOT of taxes and ive never been on public assistance. but i would rather see my tax dollars used on social programs than on war and to bail out a bunch of criminals on wall street who get more bonuses than some people make in a year.
why isn't anyone furious that the bankers and people on wall street lined their pockets with bad loans and sent our economy spiraling downwards and now that they have their billions their hoarding it by investing, giving lavish bonuses...for what? the great job they did in thievery. and now they arent even loaning people money. yeah... im not a conservatist. and i think that planned parenthood provides a very important service to our community im not personally for abortion but im not one to impose my beliefs on anyone else. and acorn is getting people to vote! of course the republicans will try to shine a bad light by making up things about voting applications that were fraudulent, that can happen anywhere. they have a really good system of checking to make sure that the information is correct. ... im sure that some will disagree but theyre probably listening to corporate owned news. anyway ill stop i know ive probably pissed off someone. but i guess now were even Smile. no hard feelings just opinions and everyone is entitled! have a great day

Hi hijadeoshun,
I guess I’m one of those people that disagree. Not on everything, but on most of it. But like you said, we are all entitled to our opinion.
Are these the same planned parenthood clinics that you support?

Who let people get rich without wanting any regulation and ended up screwing us? I guess that Republicans were to blame as well for not having bigger nuts and doing anything about it, but you be the judge in the following clip.
YouTube - Democrats Defend Fannie/Freddie from Regulation - 2004 Video

You said that this economy is in the worse state that you had ever seen. History tells us that just a few decades ago, it was way worse under the Carter Administration. Unemployment was in the double digits, where now it’s barely passed 7%.
Where’s Reagan when we need him?
I can’t wait for President Pelosi, I mean President Obama to implement his Free market capitalist agenda, I mean Big Government Socialist agenda. Can anyone here prove that the new administration isn’t for “socialism”. His administration can't seem to say whether he is or isn’t for socialism, or whether he is or isn't for capitalism.
You said Acorn was helping people to vote! I agree 300% with you on that. For a "non-partisan" organization, they sure made it clear who they were helping to win. I have yet to meet anyone other than a democrat that was registered by them. I think I was able to vote 5 times because of them.

I don’t remember us making a profit from oil this whole time we’ve been fighting. I don’t know where you got the idea that we’re fighting for oil. I could be wrong though. I’m open for your further input on this.

Hijadeoshun, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. I think some people are furious at the economic state of the world. Your sentence regarding wall street bonuses being more then SOME people, should've read more then MOST. According to the New York Times, the average bonus in 2008 was down 40% to $112,000, with executive bonuses just over $250,000. Frightening how an industry can fail miserablly and still get, in my opinion, huge bonuses.

Anyway, my official unofficial survey of friends, family and co-workers on the pork laden stimulus package has come up 20+ against, 0(ZERO) for. Even people in liberal places like California and Philadelphia don't want this thing to pass. Why do our elected officials just vote without regard to the citizens that elected them? Anyone here want this thing to pass?

WOW, what a surprise!!!!!! 20-0. Apparently they should have all voted more????? Obviously America didn't feel the same way, did they? Of course, the Republicans were right on top of it when their leader, spokesman, MIC stated that the countries economic fundamentals were sound. So, 20-0 shouldn't surprise us then. Look up at the scoreboard, look who's winning now! They-could-go-all-the-wa-wa-wayyyyyyy.

Typical worthless Gary comment. The topic is pork and the stimulus package. I haven't found a single person that wants this stimulus package to pass. So answer the question, would you vote for this package? Have you even taken the time to read what this package. Inappropriate comments deleted - Let's not let it happen again. ShotoJuku.
I ask again, DOES ANYONE WANT THIS STIMULUS PACKAGE TO PASS IN IT'S CURRENT STATE?
