Anyone able to take new online TECEP exams?
#1
Has anyone been able to successfully take an online TECEP exam from Thomas Edison?

I just tried to take my ACC 102 (Managerial Accounting) TECEP exam this evening using the ProctorU service but they were unable to "find" my test for me to take it.

Apparently they were expecting to see it listed at http://mycourses.tesc.edu/ but it wasn't there (which makes sense because I think that page is only for actual courses people are taking, not TECEP exams).

So then we went digging around the TESC student portal and found this TECEP test page. After clicking the name of the my TECEP exam we were taken here.

Unfortunately none of us were able to log into the exam; neither myself, the proctor, or the proctor's manager. We tried all sorts of different password combinations, my username, their username, the "TE2014@ops" password that's used in the instructions, etc. Still nothing. So ProctorU told me to email TESC and see what's up. I've done that, but I'll admit that I'm rather miffed, especially since this is Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and the TESC employees won't be back in the office until Tuesday.

Is there anyone else who's had this experience or was able to get around it?

Thanks!
-Paul

Your the first I've heard of someone taking the online version of the TECEPs. Could you keep us updated in regards to the process?

Hi everyone, just updating you on the latest. I've been in touch with Thomas Edison for the past week now and they still haven't been able to fix the issue. No one has been able to take their online TECEP exams. They thought they had fixed the problem this morning but then they emailed me a few hours ago to say that they've found another bug in the system. Supposedly they're supposed to have everything fixed by today but that's what they've said for the last 3 or 4 days in a row now. I'll keep yall posted.

Good news everyone, the TECEP are working correctly again. They started functioning last Friday afternoon and I took the ACC-102 TECEP successfully (and passed!). Make sure to read though all the documentation located here about how to login and such. I'll be taking another TECEP exam tomorrow. Best of luck everyone!

It appears that now since the TECEPs are online, if you register for a TECEP today you still have to wait until the March period starts before you can schedule your test. This is really going to be inconvenient. Anyone know anything different?

Thanks,

I believe that's right. I know, kind of annoying but that's how it works. TESC treats signing up for their TECEP exams just like signing up for a full-blown course. Their full undergraduate calendar is here.
