That's funny, because I'm also looking at a career in finance. I want to do something with the B.A. before I decide to earn the MBA or J.D.
Check out Breaking Into Wall Street, founded by Brian DeChesare. It has several courses which teach you financial modeling that is used in PE firms, M&A, bulge bracket, and investment banks. He founded it about seven years ago and since then about 22,000 students have taken his courses. He lists the universities, investment firms, and the U.S. Treasury as firms which have used his materials.
He also sells a $97 course on how to network and rock your interviews. The knowledge you gain from his courses are supposed to set you apart and you can hit the ground running.
I am thinking of doing his courses, but his basic course is $247. I am going to put the funds together to buy this, since I am looking at the job market, and most entry level jobs aren't appealing, and the jobs I want require more education. This is a great paying alternative. ;-)
