Don't these tests happen much later in the process?

Also, I don't know about what your nursing schools are like, but here in CA if you go to a CC for it (most people do because it's crazy cheap), you must take butt-in-seat courses for all of your science with labs.  And you pretty much need A's on all of them to get in.

Ours are super-competitive to get in, they have a ranking system.  Everyone I know that got in had a 4.0 down to maybe a 3.75 or so on the core courses (all sciences, English I, Psych, Intermediate Algebra).

Our CC's allow about 30 students in per YEAR, with about 3,000 applicants each year.  A lot of this is because it costs less than $5,000 start-to-finish for the program.  Not a bad ROI, to pay $5,000, and then make ~ $70k when you pass the NCLEX.

They also have you take the TEAS fairly early on, people study like crazy, because if you don't score VERY high, then they kick you out.  They practically want a guarantee that you'll pass the NCLEX so they have very high pass rates on the program (close to 100% for most CC's here).

I found a really great article on All Nurses about getting into nursing school. It was a while ago when I applied, but it was unheard of that anyone would get in without all A's in their sciences. That may have changed since then, but nursing school is probably one of the harder programs to complete.
If I were coaching you, I'd put you in a course to beef up your study skills in the 3-R's and note-taking as well as test-taking. I'd help you set up a schedule so you could crack the books consistently 6 days per week and ACE each of your sciences and then your TEAs. My lowest entrance score was in biology, and I'd already taken several college level biology courses- but it is possible to get perfect or near perfect scores on that assessment. I'd make that the goal. GETTING IN takes work (not that getting out will be easy lol)
