Can anybody explain the purpose for taking the optional essay for A&I Literature CLEP exam?
Without the essay is it worth 6 credits? Who do you get to grade this essay if you are not yet enrolled in a college? Those who took the essay is it worth more credits or is it mainly for practice? I really can't understand the purpose of taking it if you will get 6 credits without it.
Thanks so much!

Simple - depending on the college accepting the credits some will require the essay portion, others will not.

Ask your college. TESC doesn't need the optional essay.
