Hi everyone!
Does anyone have any tips regarding the American Literature CLEP? I just completed American Government, and am going to be starting on The Literature CLEP today. My plan is to use the Bob Jones University Press American Literature book as well as the InstantCert flashcards and the College Board study guide. Any other recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have any tips for the American Lit. CLEP.
However, I want to suggest you re-post with a different title to the thread. I do have some insight on the American Gov't. CLEP ... That's why I clicked on your post.
Edit: I see you were able to change your title. I didn't know that was an option. I thought a whole new thread had to be made. Great.

From things I have saw on this forum, it suggest you know the major books tied to American Lit. Know the Characters and Authors and the main story. Someone who has taken this already may be able to provide better insight. I am still deciding between taking the American or English Lit CLEPs so can only go on what I have read about the exams.

Can somebody please help? Is there an essay portion with American Literature CLEP and Ethics exam from DSST? UTA is asking for that before they give me credit.

That doesn't sound right to me. Someone at UTA should know about CLEP exams without asking you. You might be talking to the wrong person. Better yet, don't talk to people. Refer the person asking the question to the general catalog.

The American Lit CLEP does have an optional essay section, and apparently your school requires that.
The Ethics in America DSST does not have an essay, optional or otherwise.
