American Government CLEP - Practice Tests "Fixed"

Hi all,

First like to say that this is my first post. I have been reading these forums a lot since my first CLEP (analyzing and interpreting literature) and enjoy the help I receive by reading.

I read through some of the previous posts of American Government, and though I think I know the information I really need to know, I am a little disorganized now that the peterson's test website seems to block everyone not from Indiana by IP. I logged on a few days ago to take the first test, but today I am completely blocked from their site. I am using the free-clep-prep website to get there, and even went through my history to see if I could work around the block.

I haven't resubscribed to these forums yet, however, and I am wondering if I should spend the money for this test. I got a 74% on the first practice test. However, I plan on taking macro and micro economics this summer.

TL;DR
I would appreciate any advice on what to study, whether or not I should resubscribe to get the flashcards, and any comments on the free practice tests. If anyone can work around the IP block, please tell us

Your test score sounds pretty high - you may want to get REA Amer Govt and take their practice tests.
I only did IC and one quick REA read-thru before I took the test and got a 66.
I didn't know about Peterson's at the time.

P.S. With regards to Peterson's practice tests - Have you tried clearing your cache?

I would think that if you're scoring that high you're ready to brush up on the material you don't know and take the test. But to answer your question, I had to use Firefox because I got blocked a few times trying to access the site and tests as well. Try downloading the tests using Mozilla Firefox as you web browser...

My bad, I see what you're saying about the college not letting you access their site. Try this site, it's the military one, you'll have to create an account. But you'll get access to all the testing material.

FYI - I just tried to access that Air Force site and got an error message that they system is down. Normally it works just fine with no issues whatsoever.

Thank you finishit, I used that site, registered, and took another practice test. Thank you for clearing my anxieties! The second practice test was significantly harder, dealing a lot with committees, executive departments, and the house rather than the bill of rights, court cases, or the senate. Scored a 64% on this one, but I am glad the two tests were very different so I could see a lot of the possible test material.

Thank you Storyteller, unfortunately my test is scheduled for tomorrow and I cannot get the REA book. I have been hearing a lot of good things about them, and will most likely end up signing up for the instantcert flashcards and buying the rea book for macro and micro economics CLEPs.

Desperate need of an answer!!!

Do you have to be in the army to register for the free peterson's tests? I've been trying to access the free peterson's tests for some time. I used to have an account, but I forgot my information, and not only that, but I can't access the old link. I'm a bit scared to try making an account on the army website, because I'm not in the military.
