Am i ready to take the mathematics clep test?
#1
Hi,
So I am taking my first clep test saturday.(college mathematics).
I've been studying a lot and have put off the test for way too long.
I've gotten quite a few points down such as:real number system, logic and sets and
i do so-so on the rest. On probability do I need to know every single formula? Thankfully through khan academy
I've been able to somewhat master combinations and permutations. I took a rea practice test probably 3 weeks ago and
got a pretty low score of 53. Any help or input is appreciated!
Thanks!

Formulas, not so much. Know logic & sets for sure. I had quite a few of those (not my strong suit) and I managed to pass with a decent score. So if you've got those down, hats off to you! I couldn't understand them for the life of me!! Considering your PT score, I'd suggest looking at which questions you'd missed and focusing on those areas. All the best!

I have. The thing is the practice tests I have been doing. I don't do well on one of the tests and I pass on the other.
But I feel like I understand most of the concepts?

Yeah, different tests, different results. Again, take a look at which type of questions tend to trip you up and focus on those areas. That way you can handle whatevet the real thing throws at you. Best wishes!

Okay I'll do that. I'm just worried the actual test is going to be harder than the practice test?
The nice thing is I only need a 50 to passSmile

Could you tell me if you need to get a score of 50, is that the number of questions you get correct? percentage? what it is? i am preparing for my first CLEP test. I hope to take it right after Thanksgiving.

You only need a 50 to pass the test. No one knows exactly how the college board grades they're tests ,but You need to get roughly half
the questions on the test correct to pass the test. i am doing my first test as well on saturday. Remember guessing answers on the test
that you don't know doesn't hurt your score at all. so remember to answer every question.

Actually, I found the real thing easier than the practice tests. Things may have changed since I took it though. Big Grin
