Have studied on Instacert, have studied on REA, have studied offical clep guide. Taken 3 Petersons test. Pretty much memorized REAs test questions can go through an get around 80-90% on the tests. Have memorized the offical clep. On the Petersons tests I scored 35%, 45%, 48%. On the last Petersons I missed 5 questions, no answer, got 48%.

What percentage are you getting when you study on IC? If that percentage is higher than 65-70% I would schedule your test and then cram! Peterson's have reputation for being much harder than the actual exam with REA being much closer. What was your score the first time you took the REA practice exam?

If you've gotten about 2/3 of the questions right in the Official CLEP Study Guide practice test, you're probably ready.

Would like to say that Humanities is not that hard. Actually it is pretty easy. REA test guide worked great. Petersons tests scored 40-50% and that translated to a 59.

Hello Mr Burk,
Can you please elaborate on your experience with the Humanities test? I am collecting my arsenal of study material for that one and I will admit that I have been a little afraid of it. Actually, a lot afraid! It just seems soooo broad in subject matter that I am having a hard time figuring out just how to approach it. Any suggestions/advice you have would be really appreciated. Thanks. Oh yeah, and a BIG, HUGE, FREAKIN' congratulations to you on your pass!!! Terrific job! And, to think earlier this week you were concerned. See how smart you are!! Good job, Mr. Burk.

I would say stick to REA as your bread and butter while learning instacert. That should mean you pass. Someones that I remember was know types of instuments, types of music performances(oratorio, opera, madrigal etc), maybe take analyzing intereting lit to get into reading poety, do not focus so much on who made each type of sculpture/painting but learn how to identify the styles(surrealism, impressionism, etc), what influenced them, Rembrant, Van Gogh, Beethevoan, Bach, Shakespeare were the only big names on my exam. Know that Romans made sculptures to show personal wealth and had lots of Augustus Cesear like statues. For the Poets/Authors learn all there names and what they did no individual author stuck out. Also know Martha Graham(Dancer).

Thanks for the additional info about the Humanities exam. I don't know why I am letting it freak me out so much. But, I'm gonna schedule it, read the REA book and go thru IC until I am reciting facts in my sleep.
Thanks again!
