So, I've been studying for the past week and a half over the Introductory Psychology Clep using instant certs flashcards (ran through once). Along with about 40/103 education portal videos. And testing's on the Peterson practice tests with scores of Test1: 30% (took again after studying more received a 67%) Test2: 42% Test3: 56%. After searching on the forums from numerous posters, the Peterson Practice tests appear to be harder then the official tests. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm anticipating taking the test either tomorrow or in two days. Also, I do have access to the specific exam feedback section, but do not want to make a post on their without having official results since I don't know how to edit posts on this forum.

So have you actually read through the posts for this exam on the Specific Exam Feedback? You only mention not wanting to make a post when you haven't taken it yet -- just checking...

I would say that you should really look at the detailed answers to the ones you got wrong and study that material, then you'll probably be ok. You have to know your different psychologists
very well and their theories as that is the majority of the test. All the best on your exam.

Thank you for the response, I have been studying the psychologists but it's hard at times trying to remember who practiced what and which theories they invented or followed. I've been scoring in the 80's on the practice tests from Peterson. Even though they're my second or third time taking each test, I'll take your advice and try these next two days before my test to hit the psychologists and their practices hard. In addition, to the brain and all it's functions which I'm still have problems on.

Knowing which psychologist follows or started which philosophies can be important for this test. In the future (If you need to take more exams) I would suggest take the 1st Peterson and read the correct answer information when you start studying. Then after some study take the 2nd practice exam to see what areas you are still weak in, again read the correct answer explanations this can be very helpful. Finally when you think you are ready for the real thing take the last peterson if you don't score at least 55%( I prefer 60%) I would say you are not ready. Taking the same practice exam over especially without studying the correct answers does not give you a true reading of your knowledge, you could just be memorizing the answers. For most CLEP exams I found being able to understand what the question was really asking and having a good understanding of the subject made for a better score than just memorization.
