As an example, EVERY community college in my state uses ALEKS math. That's zillions of students. How many of us here have done $20 and passed an initial assessment? They can't have been making much money on that segment of their business.
Honestly, I don't know why they would bother. I've thought that for a long time. They can't be making much money off of the very few people getting college credit, certainly not enough to justify the expense.
