Does anyone know if I can just do assessments to complete Aleks instead of completing portions of the pie? I assessed in at 24%. I'm now at 47% and I need to get to 70%, but the work is so time consuming. Can I just keep giving myself assessments until I reach 70% or do I need to complete the pie as well? So far I've been completing portions of the pie and then giving myself assessments. I just want to knock this class out as it's my last course and I will finally receive my degree once I'm done with it. Also, it's Aleks Intro to Stats Thanks in advance

You can keep doing assessments if you want (go into your master account and schedule one whenever you want). The problem is that if you don't work through the problems, how will you get a higher score on the assessment? I would think that would be really difficult to pull off.
I'm working through ALEKS' College Algebra right now, I was at 30% on the first assessment, I worked through 12%, then forced an assessment and scored 41%. So the assessment is right where I'm at with the work. I feel your pain, but am not quite sure how you would score a 70% on the assessment if you don't know 70% of the material.

You can just do assessments. The pie is meant for a teacher/mentor/etc. to see learning progress between the assessments they assign

Great! The pie was becoming tedious and the work is so mundane. I just want to get it over with. I'm just hoping that after each assessment it goes higher than a few percentage points, meaning if I'm at 47% and I get every question right I hope it goes up to at least 10 percentage points from 47% to 57%. If it only goes up a few points, say 47% to 50% then I guess I might as well complete pieces of the pie if he assessments offer "slow growth", if you will.

They will still give you questions that you haven't covered yet, so I don't think you'll be able to continue to gain % points at that rate. But try and let us know how it works out.
And I don't think the pie is just for the teacher/mentor. If that was the case, the student wouldn't be able to see it. It's how you choose what you're going to work on next. It shows what you've covered, when you've finished something, etc.

ALEKS was too slow and tedious for me. You can try watching Khan Academy or some other algebra videos to improve your ALEKS assessment scores. I watched videos on Learner.org.

If you're comfortable with the material and are willing to gamble, you can reset your account completely (change courses, then change back) and retake the initial assessment. The initial assessment is the single greatest point to advance in ALEKS. You have the potential to test out completely with this one assessment, but you risk starting further back than where you are. Realistically, you always risk going backwards on the assessments, so I reset my account a few times after I felt I had grasped some of the larger areas and tested out of the initial.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

When I took the courses, I noticed that the first two exams were the easiest.

Well I'm familiar with statistics, and I'm confident that I can get the answers right even the one's Aleks hasn't covered. The reason I say that is because I took intro to stats with straighterline and I learned a lot. The only problem was I didn't pass the course by 1%. I scored a total of 69% and I needed 70%, only because I didn't do well on the final. Although I didn't pass, I did learn a lot and it's made Aleks a lot easier for me to get through. So I hope that I can pass each question on the Aleks assessments even one's they haven't taught me and I also use youtube videos to refresh my memory.

A word of advice. It might not be good to force extra assessments. The assessments are 20 or so questions. If you have completed 20+ pieces of pie, you get all new questions of which you have recent familiarity. If you have completed only 5 pieces of the pie you get 5 or so new questions plus 15+ questions from as far back as the the beginning of the material.
