Air Force: ACE Credit for your CDCs!

Just got this tip from a co-worker. Many CDCs are evaluated by ACE for college credit. He was a 3S2 and received a few upper level credits for education management. I checked mine and I could likewise get a few upper level credits in software engineering management.

Go to the ACE Military Guide and type in the first couple characters of your career field (i.e. 3C for me as a (used to be) 3C0X2) into the Course Number field. Be sure to use the Course Number field. Then simply look for your CDC. Alternately if you have your CDCs handy you can type in your CDC number as the course number and it should come up. I don't have mine at work so I can't confirm that right now but that is what was told to me.

This could be a great way to find a few extra credits "lying around" if you need to top up your degree program.

How would you go about getting the official "transcript" to show completion of CDCs and what ACE credits are given? I don't remember seeing anything relating to CDCs on the CCAF transcript

No, CCAF doesn't track CDC completion on your transcript. I'm actually not sure of the answer to this one. I'll see if I can remember to ask about it tomorrow.

OK got it. Take your CDC completion card from your training records and send in a copy of it along with a printout of the ACE page showing the CDC course/volume. You should check with the school regarding how to make the photocopy, i.e. does it need to be certified/notarized somehow, etc. The guy who told me was in-person at the school so it was simpler.

If you don't have your completion card then AU is supposed to be able to provide you with a transcript of all your education and training. You will need to contact the AU Student Services here: USAF Air University Portal

Be advised I was informed they may push back and claim CDCs are on your CCAF transcript. This is incorrect, they are wrong, CCAF does not track your CDC volume information, only that you reached a certain skill level. You should be entitled to a copy of your transcript. You don't have to tell them why you want it, just that you want a full record of your education and training and that the CCAF transcript does not list everything.
