Purdue Course "CM107 - Composition I" on their website says 5 credits
Sophia equivalent "Foundations of English Composition" says 4.5 Qtr Credits
So is it equivalent or not?
The Sophia agent told me "
I am not sure why it is showing 4.5 on our website, it used to always show 5 as well, I am wondering if Purdue Global made some adjustments on how they are viewing our courses, so I think it would be good to reach out to them"

Sophia is on the semester credit system so their courses are 3 credits. PUG is on the quarter credit system so 3 credits does NOT equal 3 credits.

You'd have to ask PUG about the transfer credit issues.

Purdue will take it, you'll just have to make up the extra 0.5cr in electives. It's not a big deal.
BTW, I have never seen it show as 5cr on Sophia's website, it's always been 4.5cr.
Study.com courses are generally 5 or 6cr for whatever reason (5cr for LL, 6cr for UL). And they have a ton of courses that will transfer there.

Yes for 4.5 credits like the OP stated. They want to know what about the other .5 credits which PUG requires. This is a 5 credit course at PUG.

ClockworkHammer, you don't have to worry. You should be taking more courses and transferring max into the program. You can take a general education free elective to "make up" the missing credits. Not everyone will get exactly the "right number" as people come from quarter systems to semester hours and vice versa. Take a freebie course or something...
