I'm a little confused about the BA/BS major programs offered at EC. Everything I've read here and on EC's website suggests that they do offer actual majors (not concentrations) for their bachelors degrees. Today I was in the process of applying online...as part of the application process, they ask you to choose the degree you are seeking. With the exception of CJ, nursing and business degrees, there was no major option available- just BAL or BSL w/ no major.
I know I must be missing something...they detail their major requirements in their guides, and I've read posts from IC folks who have earned their degrees w/ various majors already. Can anyone enlighten me?
Muchas gracias.

That is strange. I enrolled in their BS Psychology last year and switched to the BSL a few months later. I remember many other majors on the form as well. I'd call them about it if it were me. I can't imagine them getting rid of all those majors without any sort of publicity.

Yep, I'm going to give them a call next week. Maybe they just don't have those options on their application, although that is kinda weird.:o

Congratulations!!

That's great!
Yes, I've been drafting a degree plan based on their major requirements as listed in the catalog. That's why I think I must be missing something...has anyone out there applied recently and run into this?

I know the business program no longer offers majors. Instead, they offer concentrations.

In case anyone out there runs into this...
I called admissions at Excelsior College today to get the scoop. I spoke with a very nice person who informed me that a decision was made to remove the major option from the application to discourage new students from selecting a major straightaway. They still offer all of their major options, but they prefer that students wait to make their decisions pending an official evaluation and discussion with an adviser.
