I declared a major in "History" when I applied for TESU. When I use the "Academic Evaluation" option in Online Student Services, some other degrees can be calculated, but I notice it sometimes uses credit earned prior to my first BA in the calculations within my the degree area (e.g. I took design classes under my first BA and they are showing up in a major in Technical Studies). Can some of the credits from the first BA be used to fulfill within-the-area-of-study requirements? Is the calculator less accurate when I use this "Academic Evaluation" feature on degrees outside of the majors I've officially declared as my major?

Yes, it is less accurate in many instances.

Yeah, you won't be able to use that feature when you are working on a 2nd degree - it has to be done by hand.

Yeah, the "automatic" eval is inflexible, and it's results have to looked at with a critical eye. I'm not surprised it doesn't know how to apply the rules for a second degree.

Even on a first degree it can sometimes switch classes around. For example, anything I asked an advisor to move (like the ethics class) always defaulted back to whatever category it was in on the original evaluation. On a second degree I'm sure it doesn't have enough functionality to figure out what to do. I would email or call advising about specific courses for a second degree. You need 24 new credit so it should be easy to figure out.
