Has anyone taken the Intermediate Accounting classes at UMPI? I am wondering which is easier, SDC or UMPI? Right now on my degree plan I have 13 courses on my list for UMPI -- Eng I & II plus basically all the accounting core courses.
There are SDC accounting courses which transfer in but I am unsure which would be easier to do.
I know SDC is objectively cheaper, but if I am going to end up having to do three sessions at UMPI anyway, does it make sense to try and do them at SDC before starting UMPI?
I say three sessions as I will be working FT and don't think I will make it through 6-7 courses per session. Probably more likely 4 or 5 per session depending on difficulty.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about how UMPI is, but all the SDC accounting courses are really great and I'm doing all of them. Plus you got unlimited time to do them.
Why try and force harder materials into a time limited thing is my theory.
Keep the easy courses for UMPI so you can pack more in.

Make sure you leave at least 10 courses to complete at UMPI plus most of your UL courses. If you have 10 UL courses, I think that means you should only do 4 or 5 elsewhere (if you decide to do so).
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

I'm not 100% sure which courses count as UL, I am assuming the 300 and 400s? If so, I have 15 of them to do, 8 of which can only be done at UMPI anyway, so I think that should be fine?
Are the courses in the 200 range UL or LL?

Yes, 300s and 400s are UL. 100s and 200s are LL.

Oh great, thanks! So then there are 15 UL on the BA in accounting requirements, 8 of which have no equivalencies, i.e. will have to be done at UMPI anyway.
If I do all the rest at SDC, that will be 7 SDC courses and 8 UL at UMPI.
With Eng I & II plus 2 LL with no equivalencies, that will be 12 courses at UMPI, which is why I am worried it will take 3 sessions.
Unless anyone knows of transferrable courses that will fill BUS 200: Intermediate Business Computing and BUS 242: Spreadsheet Applications?
Thanks!

Nope. BUS200 and BUS242 have to be taken at UMPI. BUS200 is a piece of cake. Just be aware that most classes at UMPI are actually less work that Study.com especially the courses with papers. You only have 1 paper at UMPI per class.

Yes, that's exactly what I was wondering about the accounting classes -- did you take any of them? It seems like they might be easier to do at UMPI than SDC? Specifically:
BUS 361: Intermediate Accounting I
BUS 362: Intermediate Accounting II
BUS 415: Operations Management
BUS 464: Advanced Accounting

I took BUS415 and it was really easy. I had to do a short PowerPoint. I know some people are afraid of PowerPoints but they're not bad at UMPI. You even get a chance at revisions.
Also something to consider....are you looking to become a CPA? If so you may need your accounting courses to be completed at a college for licensing purposes.

I can't speak about the intermediate accounting classes at UMPI as I brought most of mine in from SDC though I feel that SDC prepared me fairly well. In general, I feel like SDC courses were harder in the sense that the upper-level classes often had very long, very involved papers, and often two or three in a course. UMPI classes have been fair so far, with plenty to do, but they haven't been an uphill slog like a few of the SDC were for me. That could just be my experience so take it with a grain of salt.
