ASU credit for $99 until 08-17-2020!
I've dropped Chemistry course. The course requires expert-level knowledge. I don't need that level of chemistry knowledge in my career.

So it takes a lot more time than I expected, so I think I dump three courses ( and I have done sociology and communications in my country ) does someone knows for what Human origins count? Can I put this as an elective? (Cosc). I really enjoy the class and the professor.

I don't know for sure what it comes in as at COSC but it should count as an elective. At most universities that have electives, almost any class can be an elective with most degrees. The exceptions are usually business or sometimes specific science classes, not something like Human Origins.

I never learned to take proper notes in school. I never had to. I download all the PDFs, glance over them, and generally don't really take notes. I'm probably making things harder for myself that way but I also have terrible handwriting so I'm not sure that handwritten notes would be any better. I've tried typewritten notes but I have a hard time concentrating on what's being said while also typing things out.

I doubt I would like to continue taking notes. It is so time-consuming and "double work." But I love the course and Dr. Johanson. I also have terrible handwriting.  It's like a Doctors note, we say in Dutch.

In English, it's similar. Doctor's handwriting. We also call it "chicken scratch" sometimes.

Downloading the transcripts is also an option, though I haven't done it. If I were going to, I would probably watch the video, download the transcript, and summarize the transcript in handwriting in my own time. That way, I wouldn't be struggling to keep up with a video. The Human Origins professor definitely is very interesting! I would hate to have gotten bored watching those videos.

I'm officially throwing in the towel and no longer actively pursuing chemistry. You literally cannot do any other course but chemistry if you expect to keep up with the work. I find it interesting and a lot of things make more sense now but the number of videos and activities that you're expected to complete each week is entirely too much. This should be a 15 week course, not a 7.5 week one. Unlike programming which (so far) could probably be a 7.5 week course and not a 15 week one.

For what it's worth, that exact course(the in person version) was the primary reason I was not successful as a freshman at ASU over a decade ago(along with some immaturity and lack of "college readiness"). The counselor just said I needed it so she signed me up for it, neglecting to inform me that you were expected to have a lot of background knowledge from at least high school chemistry(which I had none).
