ASBA Degree Plan Review @ TESC
#1
Greetings,
I'm looking at a second degree, an ASBA, and wanted to get some feedback on a degree plan. I already have quite a few of the requirements, which I picked up working on the reqs for a math degree, but I'm open to suggestions on optimization/easiest path as well.

I. General Education
A. English Composition (6credits) - SL Eng Comp 1 & SL Eng Comp 2
B. Humanities (6 credits) - DSST Art of Western World & DSST World Religions
C. Social Sciences (9 credits) - SL Macroecon, CLEP American Gov, & CLEP Intro Psych
D. Natural Sciences & Math (6 credits) - ALEKS Pre-Calc & SL Chem w/Lab
E. General Ed Electives (3 credits) - ALEKS Stats

II. Management Core
A. Principles of Financial Accounting - SL Accounting 1
B. Principles of Managerial Accounting - SL Accounting 2
C. Legal Environment for Business - CLEP Business Law
D. Principles of Management - CLEP Principles of Management
E. Principles of Marketing - CLEP Principles of Marketing
F. Introduction to Computers - DSST Intro to Computing

III. Business Electives (6 credits) - SL Microeconomics & DSST Principles of Supervision

IV. Free Electives (6 credits) - SL Calculus 1 & BYU Public Speaking

My only major concern on the degree is that the SL Microecon will satisfy the Business Elective section, given the TESC handbook and that handy TESC CBE Equivalencies PDF, everything else I think is koshur.

Thanks in advance!

DSST intro to business is super simple so I recommend that.
I always recommend CLEP over Straighterline since it is equivalent to RA credits, while SL is ACE only. I did SL for Accounting I&II, biz comm, anatomy and phys I&II, and aleks for stats and business stats.
You have a good plan there and it will definitely put you on the right path toward a BSBA. Just consider doing CLEP or DSST for courses you know you can pass. Micro and macro are not super hard as long as you use the REA books and read the entire book.

I would take DSST Business Ethics and Society since it is required for the BSBA. For me, the associates degree is a nice achievement but pales in comparison to the BSBA. You will certainly be able to get the bachelors degree so try to plan for it by knocking out the required courses for the AS.
BSBA CIS from TESC, BA Natural Science/Math from TESC
MBA Applied Computer Science from NCU
Enrolled at NCU in the PhD Applied Computer Science
