Is there "FREE" software available that converts your text into APA?

I'm pretty sure that Word 2007/2010 will do that for you now.
Here's a few links I found showing how.
APA Format - Word 2007 - Templates - Office.com
http://www.xavier.edu/library/help/apa_paper_setup.pdf
APA formatting Microsoft Word 2007.mp4 - YouTube
Just a suggestion if you can't find anything else out there.

I found something similar called PERRLA that looks like it will simplify my APA apprehensions quite a bit - thanks again!

I freaked out about APA when starting my MBA at NCU. After a while I realized that its not so bad. One thing that helps is the ProQuest database has a nifty feature that creates a bibliography entry for a journal article. I use this every day.
So for me, APA format is all about using my existing NCU paper as a template, plugging in all of my references, and then citing those references with parenthetical citations and direct quotes.
I also had to learn proper table formatting for my stats class. That took a bit but its easy once you have done it 4 or 5 times.
Google "APA purdue OWL". That is the best site around.

I use Microsoft Word's References tool. It's easy, and it works very well.
