I finally got my transcript evaluation from TESC, I'm kind of disappointed. They considered the End Lit/Comp and the Eng Lang/Comp duplicates, so I don't get credit for both. So essentially, I get 6 English credits, 3 US Gov credits, 3 Comparative Gov credits, and 6 European History credits. I was hoping they would at least put the second test into the free elective area. They listed the other 6 English credits under the RI - Ruled Ineligible category.

Pursue this. That's an error.
English Language and Comp is ENG101/102 (6)
English Literature is Literature LIT208/209 (6)
Those will be humanities credits, not free electives.

Any idea how I would object to this? Is there a procedure?

You'll have to poke around over there and find that out. I think that you open a "ticket" through a help link, or at least you used to. Simply tell them you believe your evaluation is incorrect.

I sent in a request for them to reevaluate my transcript. We'll see what happens.

My AP English Language & Composition exam and AP English Literature & Composition exam were also considered as duplicates at TESC. I got the six credits I needed for the freshman composition requirements, which was all that mattered to me. Every college I've attended has counted those exams toward their freshman composition requirements; none ever counted them toward anything else. Most schools only gave 3 credits per exam, TESC gives 6 for one or the other, which balances out to the same. I don't think this was an error; I think that TESC's policy on these exams may have been changed at some point.

You might want to try getting the info from the AP website that shows the Course Overviews. English Language & Composition shows that it's a writing & rhetoric course, while English Literature & Composition shows that it's a literary analysis course.
You might also want to include a brief synopsis from TESC's own website of their English Comp I & II courses (similar to the AP Language & Comp course) and their LIT-291 Analysis & Interpretation of Literature which is similar to the AP Lit course).
I have found when challenging them that it helps to have all of the information right there in front of them. I make it as easy as possible by including as much info as possible so they can make and "informed" decision (in my favor!). It's worked 3 times so far.

They are actually different courses.
English comp = 6 credits (composition) ENG101 + ENG102
English literature = 6 credits (humanities) LIT208 + LIT 209
How other schools evaluate is the least relevant reason to get credit one way or the other- rather you need to look at the principles that inform how TESC evaluates their own courses.
You can't argue that ABC school does is so therefor TESC should/should not- that's the wrong argument; if they wanted to award 0 credit for all AP starting tomorrow they could. It's like when a child says "but mom, everyone else is going..." you know how that plays out.
The right position is that TESC has already evaluated these courses using other venues. They argument is that they are not following their own course equivalency pattern. There are 3 exact same ways you can earn this credit (AP, CLEP, coursework) so when 2 of the 3 are already evaluated one way and the last one is different, you should question it.
CLEP and coursework are evaluated by TESC this way:
English comp = 6 credits (composition) ENG101 + ENG102
English literature = 6 credits (humanities) LIT208 + LIT 209
Whether you do is up to you, I'm just offering up that you should, because their evaluation for this student is an error.
TESC makes errors all the time. ALL THE TIME.

Most schools in California (CSU & UC) give AP exams 6 semester/8 quarter credits, and most of them award the 2 different English exams differently (6/8 units in English Comp, 3/4 units in Lit, and 3/4 units in gen ed). That being said, unfortunately, you don't get to tell TESC how they should credit the units, they get to have their own POLICY that they follow and award credits based on that, every time, to every person who transfers those courses in, in the exact same way.
Now, if they would just put that policy in writing and then follow it, that would be fantastic! They do it for CLEP and DSST quite clearly on the website and in their catalog, I'm not sure why they can't do it with AP exams.
