AFFORDABLE Masters Degree in Teaching/Education?

Hi ideas,
Last night I went through all the links you and the others shared - thank you!

It seems as though WGU would be cheaper if all the coursework were to be completed in under 2 terms which I don’t think I can physically do at this point with my other work commitments.

With that being said, if the coursework was spread
over 2 years, do you think ACE would be most cost-effective?

And lastly, anyone know of any masters degrees in education/teaching that has the LOWEST amount of credits needed? I found one for 31 credits but most are 34-36. Anyone know of any lower than 31 that I’m missing?

Thanks again.

Fort Hays State University might be an option to check out as they charge online students the same price as residents. They offer Masters degrees in various areas of Education. (https://www.fhsu.edu/virtualcollege/degr...uate/index)

Yes, I think ACE would be cheapest if you were doing it online, if your state doesn't have some cheap schools. But again they don't have federal financial aid. A traditional school usually has some semester/term fees, so take that into account when comparing price.

I think ACE might also include books. I forget, but I consider that too when comparing fees.

ACE is also nice because it's self-paced, I believe. I think you could take breaks between classes sometimes, or take fewer classes sometimes.

Plus it is a straight tuition price - All the fees are in the price of the tuition. There is an application fee, but aside from that, it's only been tuition and the cost of books.

That one would be $8400, or at least in that ballpark.

That one is just a bit more than $9,000.

I would probably pick any of these state universities over ACE if it was a thousand dollars difference between them.  I also think that there could be a value play in there somewhere by finding a school that accepts larger than normal transfer credit and taking dirt cheap education credits somewhere.

I agree. FHSU is VERY reasonable - the online tuition rate is the same for out of state students as it is for instate students; it includes pretty much all the fees in the tuition rate too  - plus it also has a highly regarded reputation.

And they will also accept ACE credits (it was part of the ACE alternative credit project as well!) So you really can't lose if you choose FHSU imho!
I don't think you will go wrong enrolling there if you wanted a traditional school degree via an online option!
