Hello,
I am currently ABD. I had a bad experience with my Ed.D. doctoral program. I'm currently ABD and would like to finish.
I have the Ed.S., and also more or less the first 3 chapters of the dissertation done. I'm debt-free, but I WANT the title.
At this point it is 100% ego for me, as it will not help me within my current teaching job, as I'm already at the top.
I am looking for a doctoral program to finish, but I really do not want to do a dissertation because of the defense, or capstone.
I'm looking for a program anywhere in the world I can finish relatively easily without breaking the bank or starting over.
Perfect accreditation is not needed; it just needs to be enough that it's recognized legitimately.
Any suggestions?
I looked at South University, but videos online made it seem like I wouldn't get much help with the dissertation. My previous experience—they didn't help much at all, so I'm looking to avoid that. I guess I need more handholding than I thought. Im a good writer but not academic style writer.
Any help from the community is greatly appreciated!!

Thank you. I guess I'd like to clarify, I'm not trying to avoid work.... I just do not want to waste time/money for another bad doctoral program where the professors do not provide much support for the dissertation, and I dont want to go thru a defense. Im open to ideas and options, anywhere in the world that might work well for me. In regards to unaccredited, isnt that just like diploma mills?

Thomas Edison State University might be the right fit for you. They offer an ABD EdD program. No dissertation required; there is a field project.

An example of an institution that has closed from the list is ITU. I would do some reasonable research on this and the sister forum as well for possible programs, such as the ones from ACE.edu and list a few others that may suit your needs. Look at international institutions as well, such as Woolf and their partners, see if there are UK Level 8 top up options for education (not just business).

Am I understanding correctly that if you transfer in 30 credits, you only have 18 left? So $876*18 + graduation and application fees = about $16,200?

Seems about right, the price is not bad for EdD ABD for what the user is looking for.

The viva voce (dissertation defense) is a vital part of any doctoral process. It gives the candidate the opportunity to show command of the subject and ownership of the research and report. I would not trust a doctoral degree that did not have it.

Education is changing. There are doctorates without a dissertation these days. Do you not trust them? Who cares if anyone on here "trusts" a degree? This is for someone's personal desire not to become a researcher.

Those doctoral programs have, for the most part, projects comparable to a traditional dissertation.
Your post is personal. I will pass on responding to the rest of it.
