If ACE forces ALEKS to go to proctored assessments to earn credit, you can probably blame mathway.com

If you use mathway it should be used as a helping tool, not an answer key.

I am really glad that ALEKS was available to me for my math credit when it was. I consider myself an intelligent person, but I seriously doubt I would have passed college algebra without the ALEKS program. I am just horrible at math beyond basic arithmetic.

That being said, there is a lot wrong with the program. The fact that you can stop during an assessment and pick it back up at any time, even days later and rampant misuse of sites like Wolfram Alpha, Mathaway, etc. are huge issues. There is just not enough student accountability.

That and people all over the internet are talking about ways of cheating the program. It's sad that people feel the need to try to ruin a good thing for everyone. The program is amazing if used correctly. If people want to cheat they could at least keep their mouth shut about it. With all of that going on I'm surprised it kept its ACE approval this long.
