TESU advice on timing the completion please
#1
I would appreciate if someone could check my thinking/planning and give advice please.

Doing Liberal Studies degree at TESU.
3 courses remaining
currently doing Abnormal PSY via Study.com
will then to Org Behavior via Study.com
then Capstone

Just read about graduation. Cannot make the April 1 deadline to graduate June which means it will have to be September. I don't want to wait that long because the degree is holding me up at work but that's what is offered - meanwhile I certainly do not want to do anything wrong and mess up the September graduation.

The deadline to submit the graduation application and is 7/1.

The next capstone terms are 3/6-5/28 and 4/2-6/25.

It will be a push for me to do the 3/6 term, but I'm afraid the 4/2 term ending 6/25 puts me right up against graduation deadline and might open a potential problem with timing/grading/admin delays.

Questions:
Do you think I should make it my business to do the 3/6 term?
Will academic advising allow me to register for the capstone without finishing the 2 UL study.com courses (which I intend/hope to finish by 3/6 but if there is some overlap that is fine)?

thanks for considering this.

I think you should be fine starting the capstone course in April. TESU's website says if you're enrolled in a course that begins in March, April, or May then you'll be eligible for September graduation. Thomas Edison State University: Graduation Information

It sounds like you have a good plan. As long as you take the capstone in April and get your ACE transcript sent over as soon as you can, you should be ok for September. I'm in the same boat - trying to finish up everything before I start the capstone in April. I wish I had started this process a few months earlier and could be done by June but that's ok. It's still faster than any other option I've looked at.

I was aiming for June Graduation myself, however, it does seem that one you apply for graduation and they approve you they will send you a letter that gives you the credentials for employers or schools or whatever else you may need it for. So once you are conferred you are ready. Actual graduation is mainly ceremony as you wont get your actual diploma till most likely weeks after graduation. So my new goal is September Ceremony. I should be completed no later then May or June. Assuming I pass my Intermediate Accounting II course, its a tough course.

They won't audit your credits and verify your graduation status until July, and I think the absolute earliest you could have documentation in hand would be August. You won't be officially conferred until Sept.
